2024-09-04soc/intel: Refactor ITSS macrosSubrata Banik
This patch refactors ITSS related SoC specific macros by consolidating them into a common itss.h file. This improves code maintainability and reduces redundancy as each SoC previously defined the same macros. Specific changes include: - Move SoC specific ITSS macros into intelblocks/itss.h. - SoC code now includes intelblocks/itss.h instead of the SoC-local soc/itss.h. - Drop soc/itss.h from static ASL files. - Delete soc/itss.h from all SoC locals except Apollo Lake and Sky Lake. TEST=Able to build and boot google/hatch, google/xol and google/karis. 2024-07-22soc/intel/alderlake/tcss: Add definition of IOM_READY bitMichał Żygowski
Add definition of the IOM_READY bit in the IOM_TYPEC_STATUS_1 register. Needed by Protectli VP66XX boards to poll for this bit for about 2 seconds before FSP Silicon Init to have USB functionality. ME is supposed to start fetching and executing the TCSS IPs FW right after DRAM Init Done message, which happens after MRC. For most platforms the time interval between the end of MemoryInit and start of SiliconInit is enough for IOM_READY to get set. TEST=Poll the IOM_READY bit on VP66XX platform and observe the TCSS XHCI is up in lspci. 2023-10-04soc/intel: Move USB wake methods to a common ASL fileReka Norman
The ACPI methods for enabling USB wake are identical on ADL, CNL and SKL. Move them to a common ASL file so they can be reused more easily on other SoCs. 2023-08-03soc/intel/alderlake: Depend RPL-guarded FSP UPDs on FSP_USE_REPOMichał Żygowski
Only the headers on Intel FSP repository have the CnviWifiCore present. Options guarded for RPL like: DisableDynamicTccoldHandshake or EnableFastVmode and IccLimit is also supported by all public FSPs (except ADL-N for the handshake). Options like LowerBasicMemTestSize and DisableSagvReorder have to be guarded when FSP_USE_REPO is not selected, as publci FSPs do not have these options. Use FSP_USE_REPO instead of/in addition to SOC_INTEL_RAPTORLAKE as dependency on the guarded UPDs to make them available for FSPs that support them as well. Also prioritize the headers from FSP repo over vendorcode headers if FSP_USE_REPO is selected. 2023-04-11soc/intel/alderlake: Hook up P2SB PCI opsMichał Żygowski
P2SB device is being hidden from coreboot by FSP-S. This breaks the resource allocator which does not report P2SB BAR via intel common block P2SB driver. Hook up the common block P2SB driver ops to soc_enable function so that the resources will be reported. The P2SB device must be set as hidden in the devicetree. This fixes the silent resource allocation conflicts on machines with devices having big BARs which accidentally overlapped P2SB BAR. TEST=Boot MSI PRO Z690-A with multiple PCIe devices/dGPUs with big BARs and see resource conflicts no longer occur. 2023-01-31soc/intel/alderlake: Pick an unused and safer graphics address spaceJeremy Compostella
It turns out that the [0xfa000000-0xfaffffff] range conflicts with some North TraceHub address space ranges ([0xfad00000-0xfadfffff] and [0xfacfc000-0xfacfffff]). Experiments have established that this conflicting range results in an unpected PIPE A underrun issue reported by i915 and some visible flickers on the display during boot. The [0xf0000000-0xffffffff] range is a crowded memory space with resources statically assigned to some devices but also some ranges used at various point in the boot flow by the FSP. To not run into any other potential conflicts, we want to pick a unused memory space. But at this early stage of the boot, we do not have full knowledge of what memory space is going to be used by the FSP. As a result, we decided to pick the [0xaf000000-0xafffffff] range as: 1. It does not conflicting with any coreboot memory space usage 2. It is the address the FSP uses by default for GFX MMIO BAR0 and as such should not conflict with any FSP memory space usage. 2023-01-11soc/intel/alderlake: Move ME firmware status register structures toDinesh Gehlot
pertinent header file This patch moves ME host firmware status register structures to ME header file. It also marks unused structure fields to reserved. The idea here is to decouple ME specification defined structures from the source file `.c` and keep those into header files so that in future those spec defined header can move into common code. The current and future SoC platform will be able to select the correct ME spec header based on the applicable config. It might be also beneficial if two different SoC platforms would like to use the same ME specification and not necessarilly share the same SoC directory. 2022-10-07soc/intel/alderlake: Support Raptor Lake VR Fast VMODEJeremy Compostella
RaptorLake introduces the support of the Voltage Regulator Fast Vmode feature. When enabled, it makes the SoC throttle when the current exceeds the I_TRIP threshold. This threshold should be between Iccmax.app and Iccmax and take into account the specification of the Voltage Regulator of the system. This change provides a mean to: 1. Enable the feature via the `vr_config->enable_fast_vmode'. If no I_TRIP value is supplied FSPs picks an adapted I_TRIP value for the current SoC assuming a Voltage Regulator error accuracy of 6.5%. 2. Set the I_TRIP threshold via the `vr_config->fast_vmode_i_trip' field. These new fields are considered independent from the other `vr_config' fields so that the board configuration does not have to unnecessarily supply other VR settings to enable Fast VMode. Due to incorrectly interpreted DOC #630603, the reserved range remains the same for all ADL platforms and is sync with src/soc/intel/common/block/acpi/acpi/northbridge.asl which defines the range as 0xfc800000-0xfe7fffff. The range 0xfe000000-0xfe7fffff was only mean for static allocations, but the rest is also reserved. The only difference between ADL-S and other ADL platforms is Trace Hub base. On nereid, we need to update the descriptor based on fw_config (see the follow-up patch), so add support to update the descriptor at runtime. This is a temporary workaround while we find a better solution. In order to cache the spd data which reads from the memory module, we add SPD_CACHE_ENABLE option to enable the cache for the spd data. If this option is enabled, the RW_SPD_CACHE region needs to be added to the flash layout for caching the data. Since the user may remove the memory module after the bios caching the data, we need to add the invalidate flag to invalidate the mrc cache. Otherwise, the bios will use the mrc cache and can make the device malfunction. 2022-01-31soc/intel/adl: Update devicetree based on remapping for TBT PCIeMAULIK V VAGHELA
ADL has 4 TBT root ports which are PCIe compliant. TBT uses PCIe coalescing logic where in case root port 0 is disabled, other enabled root port is remapped to port 0. coreboot handles this remapping scenarios for PCH and CPU PCIe root ports and not for TBT root ports. This patch uses the same function used for PCIe remapping to update devicetree based on coalescing and SoC needs to pass correct function number and number of slots. 2021-12-02soc/intel/alderlake: Add Kconfigs for all PCH typesAngel Pons
The Alder Lake code currently supports the PCH-M and PCH-P types, which have some differences (so far, only the amount of PCIe I/O). Mainboards can use the `SOC_INTEL_ALDERLAKE_PCH_M` Kconfig option to specify which PCH type they use: select the option to choose PCH-M, do not select the option to choose PCH-P. While this works, it can be confusing once more PCH types are added. Introduce the `SOC_INTEL_ALDERLAKE_PCH_P` Kconfig option so that boards have to explicitly choose a PCH type. Also, use this option to restrict the PCH-P defaults for PCH-dependent settings to avoid unintended reuse of the PCH-P defaults when adding a new PCH type. To make sure only one PCH type is selected, add some preprocessor in `bootblock.h` to provoke a build-time error if this requirement is not met. Kconfig doesn't seem to have a mechanism to describe sets of mutually-exclusive bool options that allows said options to be selected (a `choice` block doesn't allow its elements to be selected). Finally, adapt the ADL boards accordingly. Alder Lake SoC has virtual GPIOs for community 1 which was being programmed by FSP and hence was skipped by coreboot. Move PMC EPOC related code to intel/common/block because it is generic for most Intel platforms and ADL, TGL & EHL use it. Add a kconfig 'PMC_EPOC' to guard this common EPOC code. The PMC EPOC register indicates which external crystal oscillator is connected to the PCH. This frequency is important for determining the IP clock of internal PCH devices. Lists of changes: 1. Rename MISCCFG_ENABLE_GPIO_PM_CONFIG -> MISCCFG_GPIO_PM_CONFIG_BITS 2. Move MISCCFG_GPIO_PM_CONFIG_BITS definition from intelblock/gpio.h to soc/gpio.h. Refer to detailed description below to understand the motivation behind this change. An advanced GPIO PM capabilities has been introduced since CNP PCH, refer to 'include/intelblock/gpio.h' for detailed GPIO PM bit definitions. Now with TGP PCH, additional bits are defined in the MISCCFG register for GPIO PM control. This results in different SoCs supporting different number of bits. The bits defined in earlier platforms (CNL, CML, ICL) are present on TGL, JSL and ADL too. Hence, refactor the common GPIO code to keep the bit definitions in intelblock/gpio.h, but the definition of MISCCFG_GPIO_PM_CONFIG_BITS is moved to soc/gpio.h so that each SoC can provide this as per hardware support.
