2017-08-03intel/bd82x6x: Replace magic IOBP constants with known namesFelix Held
IOBP (I/O Buffer Programming) is an interface (indirect addresses space) in the RCBA that is used to configure the high speed serial lanes on the PCH, that are used for PCIe, USB3 and SATA. This patch replaces the offsets in RCBA with the defines from pch.h, gives the access functions and their parameters useful names and replaces two magic addresses in IOBP space with their defines. Fill in acpi_name to return proper ACPI names. To be used with SSDT generators. The ACPI names have to match those already used in ASL code. By providing the ACPI name it can be retrieved by the acpi_device_name() method and doesn't need to be hardcoded in SSDT generators any more. HDEF is defined in sb/intel/bd82x6x/acpi/audio.asl. LPCB is defined in sb/intel/bd82x6x/acpi/lpc.asl. RP0* is defined in sb/intel/bd82x6x/acpi/pcie.asl. SATA is defined in sb/intel/bd82x6x/acpi/sata.asl. 2017-06-15Revert "sb/intel/bd82x6x: Disable unused bridges"Nico Huber
This reverts commit f4835a85c0e851d13bcfed53a23f495caeefe8e2. It completely ignores port coalescing and breaks enumeration in many cases. The code reused to disable and hide the root ports was never meant to be called that way. The same effect of power saving can likely be achieved by clock gating unused ports after enumeration without further, error-prone function hiding. 2017-06-13Consolidate reset API, add generic reset_prepare mechanismJulius Werner
There are many good reasons why we may want to run some sort of generic callback before we're executing a reset. Unfortunateley, that is really hard right now: code that wants to reset simply calls the hard_reset() function (or one of its ill-differentiated cousins) which is directly implemented by a myriad of different mainboards, northbridges, SoCs, etc. More recent x86 SoCs have tried to solve the problem in their own little corner of soc/intel/common, but it's really something that would benefit all of coreboot. This patch expands the concept onto all boards: hard_reset() and friends get implemented in a generic location where they can run hooks before calling the platform-specific implementation that is now called do_hard_reset(). The existing Intel reset_prepare() gets generalized as soc_reset_prepare() (and other hooks for arch, mainboard, etc. can now easily be added later if necessary). We will also use this central point to ensure all platforms flush their cache before reset, which is generally useful for all cases where we're trying to persist information in RAM across reboots (like the new persistent CBMEM console does). Also remove cpu_reset() completely since it's not used anywhere and doesn't seem very useful compared to the others. 2015-10-03sandybridge ivybridge: Treat native init as first class citizenAlexandru Gagniuc
This is a sad story. We have three different code paths for sandybridge and ivybridge: proper native path, google MRC path, and, everyone's favorite: Intel FSP path. For the purpose of this patch, the FSP path lives in its own little world, and doesn't concern us. Since MRC was first, when native files and variables were added, they were suffixed with "_native" to separate them from the existing code. This can cause confusion, as the suffix might make the native files seem parasitical. This has been bothering me for many months. MRC should be the parasitical path, especially since we fully support native init, and it works more reliably, on a wider range of hardware. There have been a few board ports that never made it to coreboot.org because MRC would hang. gigabyte/ga-b75m-d3h is a prime example: it did not work with MRC, so the effort was abandoned at first. Once the native path became available, the effort was restarted and the board is now supported. In honor of the hackers and pioneers who made the native code possible, rename things so that their effort is the first class citizen. As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a new lease, but can drop the address instead. util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that we may want to synchronize every now and then. $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin St, Fifth Floor, Boston, *MA[, ]*02110-1301[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin Street, Suite 500, Boston, MA 02110-1335, USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 59 Temple Place[-, ]*Suite 330, Boston, MA *02111-1307[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA.:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -a \! -name \*.patch \ -a \! -name \*_shipped \ -a \! -name LICENSE_GPL \ -a \! -name LGPL.txt \ -a \! -name COPYING \ -a \! -name DISCLAIMER \ -exec sed -i "/Foundation, Inc./ N;s:Foundation, Inc.* USA\.* *:Foundation, Inc. :;s:Foundation, Inc. $:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + Change-Id: Icc968a5a5f3a5df8d32b940f9cdb35350654bef9 Signed-off-by: Patrick Georgi <pgeorgi@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: http://review.coreboot.org/9233 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) Reviewed-by: Vladimir Serbinenko <phcoder@gmail.com>

This change switches all southbridge vendors and southbridges to be autoincluded by Makefile.inc, rather than having to be mentioned explicitly in southbridge/Makefile.inc or in southbridge/<vendor>/Makefile.inc. In order to be able to drop southbridge/amd/Makefile.inc, some scattered source files had to be moved to a southbridge/amd/common directory, in accordance to what we are doing on other architectures already. This means, vendor and southbridge directories are now "drop in", e.g. be placed in the coreboot directory hierarchy without having to modify any higher level coreboot files. The long term plan is to enable out of tree components to be built with a given coreboot version (given that the API did not change). 2014-11-25intel: Remove IRQ1 from possible PIRQ assignemnt.Vladimir Serbinenko
According to spec IRQ1 isn't available for PIRQ assignment. Has gone unnoticed probably because modern OS use MSI or at least APIC and even with noapic don't use IRQ1 with PCI IRQs. 2014-11-23sandy/ivy/nehalem: Remerge interrupt handlingVladimir Serbinenko
On those chipsets the pins are just a legacy concept. Real interrupts are messages on corresponding busses or some internal logic of chipset. Hence interrupt routing isn't anymore board-specific (dependent on layout) but depends only on configuration. Rather than attempting to sync real config, ACPI and legacy descriptors, just use the same interrupt routing per chipset covering all possible devices. The only part which remains board-specific are LPC and PCI interrupts. Interrupt balancing may suffer from such merge but: a) Doesn't seem to be the case of this map on current systems b) Almost all OS use MSI nowadays bypassing this stuff completely c) If we want a good balancing we need to take into account that e.g. wlan card may be placed in a different slot and so would require complicated balancing on runtime. It's difficult to maintain with almost no benefit. 2014-10-22cmos: Rename the CMOS related functions.Gabe Black
Most of the code related to the mc146818 is not related to the RTC and is really for managing the CMOS storage. Since we intend to add a generic API for RTC drivers it's inconvenient for those functions to have an rtc_ prefix. This CL renames those functions so they start with cmos_ instead. There are some places where rtc_init was called with a comment that says something about starting the RTC. That wasn't correct before (the RTC is always running), but it looks a little odd now that the function is called cmos_init. This CL also opportunistically cleans up some style problems in this file.
