2020-12-17azalia: Make `set_bits` function non-staticAngel Pons
There's many copies of this function in the tree. Make the copy in azalia_device.c non-static and rename it to `azalia_set_bits`, then replace all other copies with it. Since azalia_device.c is only built when AZALIA_PLUGIN_SUPPORT is selected, select it where necessary. This has the side-effect of building hda_verb.c from the mainboard directory. If this patch happens to break audio on a mainboard, it's because its hda_verb.c was always wrong but wasn't being compiled. 2020-11-07sb/intel/lynxpoint/pcie.c: Ensure OBFF is disabledAngel Pons
Setting registers 64h[19:18] = 2 and 68h[14:13] = 3 enables OBFF, and setting registers 64h[19:18] = 0 and 68h[14:13] = 0 disables OBFF. Register at offset 0x64 is DCAP2, and offset 0x68 is DCTL2. However, current code doesn't account for this. The result is that register 64h[19:18] = 2 and 68h[14:13] = 0, which means the hardware is OBFF-capable but support is disabled, which makes no sense. Given that reference code and Broadwell both disable OBFF, disable it here too. 2020-10-12sb/intel/lynxpoint: Enable/disable AER via KconfigMatt DeVillier
Several changes[1][2] to the Linux kernel now enable ASPM/AER for the rt8169 network driver, for which it was previously disabled. This, coupled with the southbridge enabling AER for all PCIe devices, has resulted in a large amount of AER timeout errors in the kernel log for boards which utilize the rt8169 for on-board Ethernet (e.g., google/beltino). While performance is not impacted, the errors do accumulate. To mitigate this, guard AER enablement via Kconfig, select it by default (as to maintain current default behavior), and allow boards which need to disable it to do so (implemented in subsequent commits). This implementation is derived from that in soc/intel/broadwell. Test: build/boot google/beltino variants with AER disabled (CB:46136), verify dmesg log free of AER timeout errors. 2020-08-07sb/intel/lynxpoint: Consider root ports being disabled by strapAngel Pons
PCIe RPC (Root Port Configuration) straps will force-disable some root port functions if some root ports have a width greater than x1. In two cases, this affects the last function. The PCIe init code will never finish configuring the root ports if that is the case: it assumes that the last function will eventually run through the code, but it doesn't. If PCIe initialization does not complete, pressing the power button will not power off the board, unless it is held for about five seconds. Also, Windows 10 will show a BSOD about MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION, and lock up instead of rebooting. Depending on the microcode version, the BSOD may not be visible. This happens even when the root port is not populated. Use the strap fuse configuration value to know which configuration the PCH is strapped to. If needed, update the number of ports accordingly. In addition, print the updated value to ease debugging PCIe init code. Existing code in coreboot disagrees with public documentation about the root port width straps. Assume existing code is correct and document these assumptions in a table, as an explanation for the added code. Tested on Asrock B85M Pro4, PCIe initialization completes successfully. The other instances in Intel code seem to have been, unsurprisingly, copy-pasted. Drop all uses of this definition and rename it to avoid confusion. 2020-07-20src: Drop useless PM1b settings from FADTAngel Pons
None of the currently-supported chips has PM1b_EVT nor PM1b_CNT event register blocks. According to the ACPI specification, version 6.3, sections 4.8.1.1 and 4.8.1.2 (PM1 Event/Control Registers): If the PM1b_EVT_BLK is not supported, its pointer contains a value of zero in the FADT. If the PM1b_CNT_BLK is not supported, its pointer contains a value of zero in the FADT. Since the FADT struct defaults to zero in coreboot, we don't need to do anything with PM1b for now. So, drop unneeded writes to PM1b fields. Tested on Asus P8Z77-V LX2 with Linux 5.7.6 and Windows 10 at the end of the patch train, both operating systems are able to boot successfully. The ACPI spec, version 6.3, section 4.8.1.6 (General-Purpose Event Registers) says: If a generic register block is not supported then its respective block pointer and block length values in the FADT table contain zeros. Since the FADT struct defaults to zero in coreboot, we don't need to do anything with GPE1 for now. So, drop the unneeded writes to GPE1 fields. 2020-07-12sb/intel/lynxpoint: Add PCH platform type functionAngel Pons
Current code only cares whether the PCH is LP or not. However, MRC wants to differentiate between desktop and non-LP mobile platforms as well. As the PCH is soldered onto the mainboard, add a facility to retrieve which platform coreboot is running on by checking the PCH's LPC device ID. The only user of the `pch_silicon_type` function is the `pch_is_lp` function so replace the former with the new `get_pch_platform_type` function. The function needs to be defined in both romstage and ramstage where PCI ops have different signatures, hence the two copies.
