2024-01-29soc/amd/stoney: Match ACPI with resource allocationNico Huber
Currently resource allocation starts top down from the default value 0xfe000000. This does not match what ACPI reports, so adapt CONFIG_DOMAIN_RESOURCE_32BIT_LIMIT to reflect that. This reverts commit 44a48ce7a46c36df69f7b2cf3552bf10fa5f61b6. Reason for revert: It breaks wakeup from suspend on a bunch of boards. While this approach of eyeballing "correct" values by chipset _should_ be fixed, it should also be accompanied by compile time verification that the memory map works out. Since nobody seems to care enough, let's just revert this, instead of keeping the tree broken for a bunch of configurations. 2023-10-20x86: Add pre-memory stages CBFS cache scratchpad supportJeremy Compostella
Having a CBFS cache scratchpad offers a generic way to decompress CBFS files through the cbfs_map() function without having to reserve a per-file specific memory region. This commit introduces the x86 `PRERAM_CBFS_CACHE_SIZE' Kconfig to set the pre-memory stages CBFS cache size. A cache size of zero disables the CBFS cache feature. The default value is 16 KB which seems a reasonable minimal value enough to satisfy basic needs such as the decompression of a small configuration file. This setting can be adjusted depending on the platform needs and capabilities. We have set this size to zero for all the platforms without enough space in Cache-As-RAM to accommodate the default size. We have a tiny HEAP_SIZE by default, except when we don't, and mainboards that override it, or not. Since memory isn't exactly at a premium these days, and unused heap doesn't cost anything extra, just crank it up to the highest value we have in the tree by default and remove all overrides. Both the AMD AGESA reference code and the default coreboot ACPI_CPU_STRING use hexadecimal numbers in the ACPI CPU object names, so change the ACPI_CPU_STRING format string in the both the Stoneyridge Kconfig and the common non-CAR AMD SoC config Kconfig which covers all other AMD SoCs in soc/amd. All platforms where the P state and C state SSDT from binaryPI (Stoneyridge) or FSP (Picasso) was used in coreboot before it got replaced by native code, had at most 8 cores/threads, so the mismatch never became apparent. 2023-05-13acpi/Kconfig: move \_SB scope out of ACPI_CPU_STRINGFelix Held
In ACPI 1.0 the processor objects were inside the \_PR scope, but since ACPI 2.0 the \_SB scope can be used for that. Outside of coreboot some firmwares still used the \_PR scope for a while for legacy ACPI 1.0 OS compatibility, but apart from that the \_PR scope is deprecated. coreboot already uses the \_SB scope for the processor devices everywhere, so move the \_SB scope out of the ACPI_CPU_STRING to the format string inside the 3 snprintf statements that use the ACPI_CPU_STRING. 2023-03-29soc/amd/stoneyridge: use common AMD CPU power state ACPI generationFelix Held
Instead of using the PSTATE SSDT generated by binaryPI, use the common AMD code by selecting SOC_AMD_COMMON_BLOCK_ACPI_CPU_POWER_STATE. To match the SSDT from binaryPI, set ACPI_SSDT_PSD_INDEPENDENT to n. There are two differences to the binaryPI SSDT: Now coreboot includes the C1 state in the _CST package instead of just having the kernel add this due to the ACPI_FADT_C1_SUPPORTED bit being set and the address of the PS_STS_REG P state status MSR is written to the corresponding field of the _PCT package instead of being 0. TEST=On Careena the new P and C state ACPI packages are nearly identical to the ones from the SSDT from binaryPI with the two functional differences mentioned above. 2023-03-28soc/amd/stoneyridge/Kconfig: use correct VGA_BIOS_IDFelix Held
Fix the VGA_BIOS_ID IDs to match the PCI IDs in the VBIOS binaries and the PCI ID Stoneyidge's map_oprom_vendev returns. This fixes the problem that the display wasn't initialized due to not finding the VBIOS file in CBFS. This bug in the Stoneyridge Kconfig was unmasked by commit 42f0396a1028 ("device/pci_rom: rework PCI ID remapping in pci_rom_probe"). TEST=Display in Careena lights up again. 2022-10-13soc/amd/stoneyridge: add chipset devicetreesFelix Held
Add chipset devicetrees for Stoneyridge and Carrizo, which is also supported by the Stoneyridge code, but has more external PCIe ports and devices. The mainboard's devicetrees will be changed to use the aliases defined in the chipset devicetree in follow-up patches. This is a preparation to statically assign the ops for the internal devices statically in the SoC devicetree instead of dynamically adding them in ramstage. BKDG #55072 Rev 3.04 was used to check the PCI devices and functions and the MMIO addresses. Currently, the MMCONF Kconfigs only support the Enhanced Configuration Access mechanism (ECAM) method for accessing the PCI config address space. Some platforms have a different way of mapping the PCI config space to memory. 2021-09-24soc/amd/common/block: move binaryPI S3 block into PI blockFelix Held
The code in soc/amd/common/block/s3 is specific to the AMD binaryPI coreboot integration, so move the code to soc/amd/common/block/pi. This drops the SOC_AMD_COMMON_BLOCK_S3 Kconfig option and integrates the dependencies and selections into the SOC_AMD_COMMON_BLOCK_PI Kconfig option. Since only selecting SOC_AMD_COMMON_BLOCK_PI but not SOC_AMD_COMMON_BLOCK_S3 resulted in missing functions in the linking process, we don't lose support for any working configuration by only having one Kconfig option for both parts. 2021-07-26soc/amd/common/block/acpimmio: add Kconfig option for biosram accessorsFelix Held
The biosram accessor support in soc/amd/common/block/acpimmio/biosram.c is only used on Stoneyridge and the old amd/southbridge code and not on Picasso or Cezanne. It also only builds as a 32 bit binary and breaks when trying to build as a 64 bit binary, since the size of an uintptr_t is different on those two. There is no support for using the 32 bit binaryPI with a 64 bit coreboot while there is code to use a 32 bit FSP with 64 bit coreboot, so not building this for FSP-based SoC support moves us one step closer to be able to build coreboot as 64 bit binary for Picasso and Cezanne. The KBRST_L pin will cause a reset when driven or pulled low even when the GPIO mux is set to GPIO and not native function. So when you want to use that pin as general purpose output the keyboard reset input functionality needs to be disabled by selecting this option in the board's Kconfig file to avoid causing a reset by writing a 0 to the output level bit when it's configured as an output. I2C driver is replicated in each generation of AMD SoCs. Introduce a common I2C driver that can be used across all the AMD SoCs. To begin with, peripheral reset functionality is moved into this common driver. SoC specific I2C driver passes the SCL pin configuration in order for the common driver to reset the peripherals. More functionality can be moved here in subsequent changes. Also sb_reset_i2c_slaves() is renamed as sb_reset_i2c_peripherals() as an effort towards using inclusive language. Added new config BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_NO_EARLY_WRITES to accomodate older x86 platforms that don't allow writing to SPI flash when early stages are running XIP from flash. If BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_NO_EARLY_WRITES is not selected, BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_RW_NOMMAP_EARLY will get auto-selected if BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_RW_NOMMAP=y. This allows for current platforms that write to flash in the earlier stages, assuming that they have that capability. 2020-04-13soc/amd/common/psp: Split mailbox support into v1 and v2Marshall Dawson
Family 17h redefines the PSP command and status, and therefore the steps required to send commands via the mailbox. Convert the existing version into a v1 and add a v2. New Kconfig options allow the soc to choose v1 vs. v2. The v2 PSP begins responding to the mailbox command when the full bit range is written. Define the new mailbox as a union of a u32 and a structure. A later patch will address the poor use of this symbol All PSP blobs are still assumed to be in the same directory as the AMD public key. Qualify building the amdfw.rom intermediate image and including it into coreboot.rom on whether the public key remains "". This change infers it's OK to skip xHCI and GEC firmware too, although the images normally reside in a separate directory. This change only determines whether default paths and names exist. Paths will be updated in a follow-on patch. For siemens/mc_bdx1,mc_aplX boot time will be increased due the use of get_us_since_boot() with COLLECT_TIMESTAMPS=n. When unable to determine if N seconds has elapsed from boot, this turns into a delay of N seconds. Add explicit CBMEM_STAGE_CACHE option. Rename CACHE_RELOCATED_RAMSTAGE_OUTSIDE_CBMEM to TSEG_STAGE_CACHE. Platforms with SMM_TSEG=y always need to implement stage_cache_external_region(). It is allowed to return with a region of size 0 to effectively disable the cache. There are no provisions in Kconfig to degrade from TSEG_STAGE_CACHE to CBMEM_STAGE_CACHE. As a security measure CBMEM_STAGE_CACHE default is changed to disabled. AGESA platforms without TSEG will experience slower S3 resume speed unless they explicitly select the option. The banked GPIO functionality in the AcpiMmio block has been consistent since the Mullins product. Move the basic support into a common directory. Each product's pin availability, MUXes, and other details must remain specific to the product. The relocated source also drops the weak configure_gevent_smi() that reports SMI is not available. The stoneyridge port relies on SMI to do its initialization, similar to modern soc/intel devices. This is the plan for future soc/amd ports, so make a missing function a build error instead of a runtime warning. Move the stoneyridge AcpiMmio code into soc/amd/common. The SB800 southbridge introduced the MMIO hardware blocks at 0xfed80000 commonly known as AcpiMmio. Implementations beginning with Mullins enable decode in PMx04. Older designs use PMx24 and allow for configuring the base address. Future work may support the older version. Comparing the documentation for AMD's RRGs and BKDGs, it is evident that the block locations have not been reassigned across products. In some cases, address locations are deprecated and new ones consumed, e.g. the early GPIO blocks were simpler at offset 0x100 and the newer GPIO banks are now at 0x1500, 0x1600, and 0x1700. 2019-01-14console: Change BOOTBLOCK_CONSOLE default to `y`Nico Huber
Invert the default instead of selecting it everywhere. Restores the ability to use its Kconfig prompt. Beside Qemu targets, the only platforms that didn't select it seem to be samsung/exynos5420, intel/cannonlake, and intel/icelake. The latter two were about to be patched anyway.
