2024-01-24mb/lenovo to mb/squared: Rename Makefiles from .inc to .mkMartin Roth
The .inc suffix is confusing to various tools as it's not specific to Makefiles. This means that editors don't recognize the files, and don't open them with highlighting and any other specific editor functionality. This issue is also seen in the release notes generation script where Makefiles get renamed before running cloc. There is no enumerate_buses() today and also no trace of it in our repository. Also, in current terms, mainboard_enable() is called as the very first thing in our enumeration so the comment seems misleading. 2023-10-25SNB+MRC boards: Migrate MRC settings to devicetreeKeith Hui
For Sandy Bridge boards with MRC raminit support, migrate as much MRC settings to devicetree as possible, to stop mainboard code from needlessly overwriting entire PEI data structure, so they will not interfere with upcoming transition to one standard Haswell way of providing SPD info to northbridge. Some exceptions allowed are described below and in code comments. SPD-related items are kept out of devicetree for now. They will be migrated (with a different representation) with the Haswell SPD transition. google/{butterfly,link,parrot,stout} have max DDR3 frequency set in pei_data to 1600 (2*800), but in devicetree to 666. The reason for the difference seems to be problems with native raminit code. These are converted into ternaries tied to CONFIG_USE_NATIVE_RAMINIT, with an added "fix me" tag. asus/p8x7x-series also needs the same treatment, based on testing various memory on p8z77-m hardware. TEST=Builds on all affected boards. asus/p8z77-m still works with multiple RAM modules tested. 2023-03-23nb/intel/snb: Abolish mainboard_should_reset_usb()Keith Hui
Of the 13 mainboards that implement mainboard_should_reset_usb() hook, all but one do the same: Stop MRC from resetting USB when resuming from S3 suspend. This hook turns out is only here to facilitate a USB reset workaround on samsung/stumpy for an old ChromeOS kernel which is no longer needed. Drop the workaround, the hook, and headers no longer used. roda/rv11/early_init.c is left with no useful code after this patch, so drop it entirely from both bootblock and romstage. 2023-02-08mb/samsung: Enable VBOOT_VBNV_FLASHYu-Ping Wu
To deprecate VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS [1], replace VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS with VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH for samsung boards lumpy and stumpy. 0x8000 unused flash space is allocated for RW_NVRAM. Previously BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_NO_EARLY_WRITES was selected for CPU_INTEL_HASWELL, CPU_INTEL_MODEL_{2065X,206AX} and others (see [2]). However, there seems to be no particular reason on those platforms. We've dropped the config for haswell. Now drop it for CPU_INTEL_MODEL_{2065X,206AX}, so that VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH can be enabled. Currently, the MMCONF Kconfigs only support the Enhanced Configuration Access mechanism (ECAM) method for accessing the PCI config address space. Some platforms have a different way of mapping the PCI config space to memory. This patch renames the following configs to make it clear that these configs are ECAM-specific: - NO_MMCONF_SUPPORT --> NO_ECAM_MMCONF_SUPPORT - MMCONF_SUPPORT --> ECAM_MMCONF_SUPPORT - MMCONF_BASE_ADDRESS --> ECAM_MMCONF_BASE_ADDRESS - MMCONF_BUS_NUMBER --> ECAM_MMCONF_BUS_NUMBER - MMCONF_LENGTH --> ECAM_MMCONF_LENGTH Please refer to CB:57861 "Proposed coreboot Changes" for more details. 2021-10-15mainboard: Drop invalid `VGA_BIOS_FILE` defaultsAngel Pons
If the VGA BIOS file path for `VGA_BIOS_FILE` in a mainboard's Kconfig does not exist in the coreboot tree (including submodules), drop it. These files should be stored in the `site-local` subdirectory and the paths specified for each board in `site-local/Kconfig`. For example: config VGA_BIOS_FILE default "site-local/x200_vbios.bin" if BOARD_LENOVO_X200 Note that this is just an example. There are better ways to structure one's `site-local` subfolder. Using the `CONFIG_MAINBOARD_DIR` option would be one of them, though variants may still need special handling. Also, update autoport to not generate `VGA_BIOS_FILE` defaults. There's no good reason to use values smaller than 2 GiB here. Well, it increases available DRAM in 32-bit space. However, as this is a 64-bit platform, it's highly unlikely that 32-bit limitations would cause any issues anymore. It's more likely to have the allocator give up because memory-mapped resources in 32-bit space don't fit within the specified MMIO size, which can easily occur when using a discrete graphics card. 2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. This is change 3/5 which basically is generated by running the following command: $ git grep -iIl "arch/acpi" | xargs sed -i 's/arch\/acpi/acpi\/acpi/g' BUG=b:155428745 Change-Id: I16b1c45d954d6440fb9db1d3710063a47b582eae Signed-off-by: Furquan Shaikh <furquan@google.com> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/40938 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: HAOUAS Elyes <ehaouas@noos.fr>

They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. 2019-11-01soc/intel/{IA-CPU/SOC}: Move sleepstates.asl into southbridge/intel/common/acpiSubrata Banik
This patch creates a common instance of sleepstates.asl inside intel common code (southbridge/intel/common/acpi) and asks all IA CPU/SOC code to refer sleepstates.asl from common code block. TEST=Able to build and boot Hatch and ICL DE system. Dump DSDT.asl to verify S0/S3/S4/S5 entries after booting to OS. 2019-07-19sb/intel/{bd82x6x|ibexpeak}: Drop p_cnt_throttling_supportedPatrick Rudolph
The processor P_BLK doesn't support throttling. This behaviour could be emulated with SMM, but instead just update the FADT to indicate no support for legacy I/O based throttling using P_CNT. We have _PTC defined in SSDT, which should be used in favour of P_CNT by ACPI aware OS, so this change has no effect on modern OS. Drop all occurences of p_cnt_throttling_supported and update autoport to not generate it any more. 2019-05-13mainboard: remove "recovery" gpio, selectively add "presence" gpio.Matt Delco
The gpio table is only used by depthcharge, and depthcharge rarely has a need for the "recovery" gpio. On a few boards it does use the gpio as a signal for confirming physical presence, so on that boards we'll advertise the board as "presence". All these strings probably should have been #defines to help avoid typos (e.g., the "ec_in_rw" in stout seems questionable since everybody else uses "EC in RW").
