There is no platform-level implementation for USB port power management in various sleepstates. This mainboard never evaluates the set GNVS variables S3U0, S3U1, S5U0 and S5U1 in ASL or in its SMI handlers. The `_PRS` ACPI object is not needed for static (non-configurable) devices. For devices where `_CRS` always provides the same set of resource settings, drop the `_PRS` object. Note that every dropped `_PRS` object only provides one set of resource settings, which is identical to the resource settings provided by the `_CRS` object. Also, drop `IGNORE_IASL_MISSING_DEPENDENCY` as it's no longer needed. IASL compiler check for usage of _CRS, _DIS, _PRS, and _SRS objects: 1) If _PRS is present, must have _CRS and _SRS 2) If _SRS is present, must have _PRS (_PRS requires _CRS and _SRS) 3) If _DIS is present, must have _SRS (_SRS requires _PRS, _PRS requires _CRS and _SRS) 4) If _SRS is present, probably should have a _DIS (Remark only) IASL will issue a warning for each missing dependency. Ignore this warnings for existing ASL code and issue a message when the build is complete. 2021-10-15mainboard: Drop invalid `VGA_BIOS_FILE` defaultsAngel Pons
If the VGA BIOS file path for `VGA_BIOS_FILE` in a mainboard's Kconfig does not exist in the coreboot tree (including submodules), drop it. These files should be stored in the `site-local` subdirectory and the paths specified for each board in `site-local/Kconfig`. For example: config VGA_BIOS_FILE default "site-local/x200_vbios.bin" if BOARD_LENOVO_X200 Note that this is just an example. There are better ways to structure one's `site-local` subfolder. Using the `CONFIG_MAINBOARD_DIR` option would be one of them, though variants may still need special handling. Also, update autoport to not generate `VGA_BIOS_FILE` defaults. Objects that are created with acpigen need to be declared with External () for the generation of dsdt.asl to pass iasl without errors. There are some objects that are common to all platforms, and some that should be declared only conditionally. Having a top-level ASL helps to achieve this. Allocation now happens prior to device enumeration. The step cbmem_add() is a no-op here, if reached for some boards. The memset() here is also redundant and becomes harmful with followup works, as it would wipe out the CBMEM console and ChromeOS related fields without them being set again. 2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all. 2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs.
