2015-08-17AMD Binary PI: Fix the build when the user's group has a spaceDan Christensen
When the user's primary group contains a space ls -l and awk get the wrong value for the file size. This results in padding the coreboot_psp_directory_combine_pubkey.bin file too much which ultimately means RtmPubSigned.key can not be placed at the necessary offset. Changing from ls -l to ls -ln seemed like the most minimal, POSIX-friendly way to effect this change. 2015-07-23nvidia southbridges: don't touch 0x78 in LPC bridge with Fam10hJonathan A. Kollasch
Based on the observations that AMD Fam10h with both Nvidia CK804 (Asus KFSN4-DRE) and MCP55 (Sun Ultra 40 M2) need to avoid adjusting the LPC bridge register 0x78 (particularly the 0x7b byte) to get to ramstage: Assume that there's something about this register that adjusting it the way we do for K8 is something that can/should be universally avoided on all Fam10h systems with these chipsets. 2015-07-11Calculate HUDSON_FWM_POSITION and display warning on mismatchMartin Roth
This patch calculates the address where the chipset firmware descriptor should be located and compares it against the actual value from Kconfig. If the two don't match, it puts up a warning. This could probably replace the config variable completely, but I wanted to see how other people felt before doing that. I seem to recall that the value used to be calculated, so I figure that there must be a reason it's done this way at this point. If we do want to keep the Kconfig setting, this patch could also be modified to just verify that the HUDSON_FWM_POSITION is inside the ROM space. 2015-06-05lib: Unify log2() and related functionsJulius Werner
This patch adds a few bit counting functions that are commonly needed for certain register calculations. We previously had a log2() implementation already, but it was awkwardly split between some C code that's only available in ramstage and an optimized x86-specific implementation in pre-RAM that prevented other archs from pulling it into earlier stages. Using __builtin_clz() as the baseline allows GCC to inline optimized assembly for most archs (including CLZ on ARM/ARM64 and BSR on x86), and to perform constant-folding if possible. What was previously named log2f on pre-RAM x86 is now ffs, since that's the standard name for that operation and I honestly don't have the slightest idea how it could've ever ended up being called log2f (which in POSIX is 'binary(2) LOGarithm with Float result, whereas the Find First Set operation has no direct correlation to logarithms that I know of). Make ffs result 0-based instead of the POSIX standard's 1-based since that is consistent with clz, log2 and the former log2f, and generally closer to what you want for most applications (a value that can directly be used as a shift to reach the found bit). As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a new lease, but can drop the address instead. util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that we may want to synchronize every now and then. $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin St, Fifth Floor, Boston, *MA[, ]*02110-1301[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin Street, Suite 500, Boston, MA 02110-1335, USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 59 Temple Place[-, ]*Suite 330, Boston, MA *02111-1307[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA.:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -a \! -name \*.patch \ -a \! -name \*_shipped \ -a \! -name LICENSE_GPL \ -a \! -name LGPL.txt \ -a \! -name COPYING \ -a \! -name DISCLAIMER \ -exec sed -i "/Foundation, Inc./ N;s:Foundation, Inc.* USA\.* *:Foundation, Inc. :;s:Foundation, Inc. $:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + Change-Id: Icc968a5a5f3a5df8d32b940f9cdb35350654bef9 Signed-off-by: Patrick Georgi <pgeorgi@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: http://review.coreboot.org/9233 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) Reviewed-by: Vladimir Serbinenko <phcoder@gmail.com>

This change switches all southbridge vendors and southbridges to be autoincluded by Makefile.inc, rather than having to be mentioned explicitly in southbridge/Makefile.inc or in southbridge/<vendor>/Makefile.inc. In order to be able to drop southbridge/amd/Makefile.inc, some scattered source files had to be moved to a southbridge/amd/common directory, in accordance to what we are doing on other architectures already. This means, vendor and southbridge directories are now "drop in", e.g. be placed in the coreboot directory hierarchy without having to modify any higher level coreboot files. The long term plan is to enable out of tree components to be built with a given coreboot version (given that the API did not change). 2015-03-19southbridge/amd/rs780: Remove requirement for CF8/CFC config accessKyösti Mälkki
The AMD RS780 early initialization code originally used the CF8/CFC I/O method for PCI configuration space access. After the default configuration access method was changed to MMIO (http://review.coreboot.org/#q,aad07472), booting would hang at "PCI: pci_scan_bus for bus 01". Fix the problem by changing function rs780_nb_gfx_dev_table() so that it no longer borrows the BAR3 address needed for PCIe MMIO config usage. 2015-03-18bootstate: use structure pointers for scheduling callbacksAaron Durbin
The GCC 4.9.2 update showed that the boot_state_init_entry structures were being padded and assumed to be aligned in to an increased size. The bootstate scheduler for static entries, boot_state_schedule_static_entries(), was then calculating the wrong values within the array. To fix this just use a pointer to the boot_state_init_entry structure that needs to be scheduled. In addition to the previous issue noted above, the .bs_init section was sitting in the read only portion of the image while the fields within it need to be writable. Also, the boot_state_schedule_static_entries() was using symbol comparison to terminate a loop which in C can lead the compiler to always evaluate the loop at least once since the language spec indicates no 2 symbols can be the same value. 2015-02-27x86: Fix pointer arithmetic regressions from MMIO changesKevin Paul Herbert
During the development of commit bde6d30 (x86: Change MMIO addr in readN(addr)/writeN(addr, val) to pointer), there were several iterations and patterns tried. An intermediate pattern was the use of u32 pointers, and division by sizeof(u32). Some of these did not get properly changed to pointer types of length 1, causing a regression in the Intel Ibex Peak SATA driver, fixed in commit 9b5f137 (Intel ibexpeak: Fix SATA configuration). Other regressions of this pattern are fixed here. I audited all changes to u32 types, and the other ones are safe. 2015-02-14AMD cimx/sb800: Fix PCI-to-PCI bridge 0:14.4 configurationKyösti Mälkki
A set of pins can be configured for GPIO or (parallel) PCI bridge use. When requested configuration is 0:14.4 enabled, register programming must be done before attempting to enumerate devices behind the bridge. When requested configuration is 0:14.4 disabled, we must not even temporarily enable pins for PCI use to avoid spurious GPIO state changes. As our PCI subsystem currently does not configure visible PCI bridges that are marked disabled, we cannot mark 0:14.4 disabled just yet but need to handle pcengines/apu1 as a special case.
