Datasheets describe the used command as 'I2C Read' but adding the word 'eeprom' in between should avoid further confusion with other block commands. Followups will add a symmetrical pair of commands i2c_block_read() and i2c_block_write() that operate via I2C_EN bit and have a 32 byte size restriction on block transfers. For some hardware revision these block commands are available, while 'I2C Read' was not. 2019-01-13sb/intel: Check for NULL-return of pcidev_on_root()Nico Huber
In these cases we have to expect a NULL pointer because the IGD device 0:2.0 may be disabled. The behaviour still differs from using dev_find_slot(), which may return a disabled device. Though, if you'd try to read its config space you'd only read garbage (0xff) and in cases where we filled ACPI data with devicetree information, the information shouldn't be interpreted by the OS because of the disabled device. 2019-01-06Kconfig: Unify power-after-failure optionsNico Huber
The newest and most useful incarnation was hiding in soc/intel/common/. We move it into the Mainboard menu and extend it with various flags to be selected to control the default and which options are visible. Also add a new `int` config MAINBOARD_POWER_FAILURE_STATE that moves the boolean to int conversion into Kconfig: 0 - S5 1 - S0 2 - previous state This patch focuses on the Kconfig code. The C code could be unified as well, e.g. starting with a common enum and safe wrapper around the get_option() call. TEST=Did what-jenkins-does with and without this commit and compared binaries. 2018-08-16sb/intel/i82801[ij]x: do not set Chipset Initialization Register (CIR) 5Stefan Tauner
The specification updates for ICH 9 & 10 require to leave the register in its default state by reserving all of its bits. Writing to it does not seem to make a difference anyway since reading it afterwards does not reflect the write (tested on ICH10). Therefore we should omit the writes but document this fact in the code because it is easy to miss from the datasheet alone. 2018-01-05nb/intel/x4x: Disable watchdog, halt TCO timer and clear timeoutArthur Heymans
Especially on ICH7 failing to do so results in i2c block read being unusable. On ICH10 this problem doesn't manifest itself that much. This moves disabling the watchdog reboot to the northbridge code like i945 (even though it technically is southbridge stuff). TESTED on Intel DG41WV: hacking on raminit is much nicer since no need to do a hard power down for +4s are needed to clear the timeouts. 2017-08-06sb/intel/*: Use common SMBus functionsArthur Heymans
All Intel southbridges implement the same SMBus functions. This patch replaces all these similar and mostly identical implementations with a common file. This also makes i2c block read available to all those southbridges. If the northbridge has to read a lot of SPD bytes sequentially, using this function can reduce the time being spent to read SPD five-fold.
