2021-01-20ACPI GNVS: Drop APIC, factor out MPENKyösti Mälkki
APIC was not referenced anywhere in ASL. MPEN has references under boards: getac/p470, roda/rk9, roda/rk886ex. MPEN has reference also in Intel SpeedStep ASL. Replace static MPEN with detection of multiple CPUs installed. 2021-01-18ACPI: Refactor ChromeOS specific ACPI GNVSKyösti Mälkki
The layout of GNVS has expectation for a fixed size array for chromeos_acpi_t. This allows us to reduce the exposure of <chromeos/gnvs.h>. If chromeos_acpi_t was the last entry in struct global_nvs padding at the end is also removed. If device_nvs_t exists, place a properly sized reserve for chromeos_acpi_t in the middle. Allocation from cbmem is adjusted such that it matches exactly the OperationRegion size defined inside the ASL. 2021-01-18ACPI: Select ACPI_SOC_NVS only where suitableKyösti Mälkki
Having some symmetry with <soc/nvs.h> now allows to reduce the amount of gluelogic to determine the size and cbmc field of struct global_nvs. Since GNVS creation is now controlled by ACPI_SOC_NVS, drivers/amd/agesa/nvs.c becomes obsolete and soc/amd/cezanne cannot have this selected until <soc/nvs.h> exists. 2021-01-10ACPI: Drop redundant CBMEM_ID_ACPI_GNVS allocationsKyösti Mälkki
Allocation now happens prior to device enumeration. The step cbmem_add() is a no-op here, if reached for some boards. The memset() here is also redundant and becomes harmful with followup works, as it would wipe out the CBMEM console and ChromeOS related fields without them being set again. There's many copies of this function in the tree. Make the copy in azalia_device.c non-static and rename it to `azalia_set_bits`, then replace all other copies with it. Since azalia_device.c is only built when AZALIA_PLUGIN_SUPPORT is selected, select it where necessary. This has the side-effect of building hda_verb.c from the mainboard directory. If this patch happens to break audio on a mainboard, it's because its hda_verb.c was always wrong but wasn't being compiled. Looks like no one really knows what this bit would be useful for, nor when it would need to be set. Especially if coreboot is setting it even on PCI *Express* bridges. According to the ACPI specification, version 6.3: Accesses to the PM1 status registers are done through byte or word accesses. The same is said about the PM1 Enable registers. Therefore, reporting dword-sized access is wrong and means nothing anyway. Since some other platforms use word-sized access, use word everywhere for consistency. 2020-07-20src: Make HAVE_CF9_RESET set the FADT reset registerAngel Pons
All supported x86 chips select HAVE_CF9_RESET, and also use 0xcf9 as reset register in FADT. How unsurprising. We might as well use that information to automatically fill in the FADT accordingly. So, do it. To avoid having x86-specific code under arch-agnostic `acpi/`, create a new optional `arch_fill_fadt` function, and override it for x86 systems. Tested on Asus P8Z77-V LX2 with Linux 5.7.6 and Windows 10 at the end of the patch train, both operating systems are able to boot successfully. 2020-07-20src: Drop useless PM1b settings from FADTAngel Pons
None of the currently-supported chips has PM1b_EVT nor PM1b_CNT event register blocks. According to the ACPI specification, version 6.3, sections 4.8.1.1 and 4.8.1.2 (PM1 Event/Control Registers): If the PM1b_EVT_BLK is not supported, its pointer contains a value of zero in the FADT. If the PM1b_CNT_BLK is not supported, its pointer contains a value of zero in the FADT. Since the FADT struct defaults to zero in coreboot, we don't need to do anything with PM1b for now. This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. This is change 3/5 which basically is generated by running the following command: $ git grep -iIl "arch/acpi" | xargs sed -i 's/arch\/acpi/acpi\/acpi/g' BUG=b:155428745 Change-Id: I16b1c45d954d6440fb9db1d3710063a47b582eae Signed-off-by: Furquan Shaikh <furquan@google.com> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/40938 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: HAOUAS Elyes <ehaouas@noos.fr>

2020-03-24drivers/intel/gma/acpi: Reduce display switching stubsNico Huber
_DCS, _DGS and _DSS are required by specification. However, we never implemented them properly, and no OS driver com- plained yet. So we stub them out and keep the traditional behavior in case an OS driver checks for their existence. The old implementations also only returned static values as there never was any write to their GNVS variables. The TRAP() that was called in one place is actually implemented by some ThinkPad's SMI handler as docking event. However, as the call precedes these SMI handlers in coreboot history, it's most likely an accident. 2020-03-17src (minus soc and mainboard): Remove copyright noticesPatrick Georgi
They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest.
