2019-01-06Kconfig: Unify power-after-failure optionsNico Huber
The newest and most useful incarnation was hiding in soc/intel/common/. We move it into the Mainboard menu and extend it with various flags to be selected to control the default and which options are visible. Also add a new `int` config MAINBOARD_POWER_FAILURE_STATE that moves the boolean to int conversion into Kconfig: 0 - S5 1 - S0 2 - previous state This patch focuses on the Kconfig code. The C code could be unified as well, e.g. starting with a common enum and safe wrapper around the get_option() call. TEST=Did what-jenkins-does with and without this commit and compared binaries. Nothing changed for the default configurations. 2018-09-13src/*/intel/: clarify Kconfig options regarding IFDStefan Tauner
HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid. Refine the help text to make this clear. Introduce a new option INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE that does simply declare that IFD is supported by the platform. Select this value everywhere instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected. Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to the mainboard directory. The specification updates for ICH 9 & 10 require to leave the register in its default state by reserving all of its bits. Writing to it does not seem to make a difference anyway since reading it afterwards does not reflect the write (tested on ICH10). Therefore we should omit the writes but document this fact in the code because it is easy to miss from the datasheet alone. 2018-07-30nb/intel/gm45: Use common code for SMM in TSEGArthur Heymans
This makes i82801ix use the common smm southbridge code to set up smm relocation and smi handler setup. This is needed in this change for the the smm relocation code relies on some southbridge functions provided in the common code. Some of the old code is kept for the Q35 qemu target. This also caches the TSEG region and therefore increases MTRR usage a little in some cases. Currently SMRR msr's are not set on model_1067x and model_6fx since this needs the MSRR enable bit and lock set in IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL. This will be handled properly in the subsequent parallel mp init patchset. Tested on Thinkpad X200: boots and going to and resuming from S3 still works fine. 2016-06-01drivers/lenovo: Add hybrid graphics driverPatrick Rudolph
Add a universal hybrid graphics driver compatible with all supported lenovo devices. Hybrid graphics allows to connect the display panel to either of one GPUs. As there are only two GPUs one GPIO needs to be toggled. In case the discrete GPU is activated the panel is routed to it. On deactivation the panel is routed to the integrated GPU. On lenovo laptops the dGPU is always connected to PEG10 and it is save to disable the PEG slot on dGPU deactivation. Use common gpio.c for southbridge I82801IX. Tested on Lenovo T520 using Nvidia NVS 5200m. Removed Lenovo T430s from the list of supported devices, as the T430s only supports "muxless Optimus". 2015-05-21Remove address from GPLv2 headersPatrick Georgi
As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a new lease, but can drop the address instead. util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that we may want to synchronize every now and then. $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin St, Fifth Floor, Boston, *MA[, ]*02110-1301[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin Street, Suite 500, Boston, MA 02110-1335, USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 59 Temple Place[-, ]*Suite 330, Boston, MA *02111-1307[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA.:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -a \! -name \*.patch \ -a \! -name \*_shipped \ -a \! -name LICENSE_GPL \ -a \! -name LGPL.txt \ -a \! -name COPYING \ -a \! -name DISCLAIMER \ -exec sed -i "/Foundation, Inc./ N;s:Foundation, Inc.* USA\.* *:Foundation, Inc. :;s:Foundation, Inc. $:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + Change-Id: Icc968a5a5f3a5df8d32b940f9cdb35350654bef9 Signed-off-by: Patrick Georgi <pgeorgi@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: http://review.coreboot.org/9233 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) Reviewed-by: Vladimir Serbinenko <phcoder@gmail.com>

2015-04-27kbuild: automatically include southbridgesStefan Reinauer
This change switches all southbridge vendors and southbridges to be autoincluded by Makefile.inc, rather than having to be mentioned explicitly in southbridge/Makefile.inc or in southbridge/<vendor>/Makefile.inc. In order to be able to drop southbridge/amd/Makefile.inc, some scattered source files had to be moved to a southbridge/amd/common directory, in accordance to what we are doing on other architectures already. This means, vendor and southbridge directories are now "drop in", e.g. be placed in the coreboot directory hierarchy without having to modify any higher level coreboot files. The long term plan is to enable out of tree components to be built with a given coreboot version (given that the API did not change). Because we had no stack on romcc boards, we had a separate, not as powerful clone of printk: print_*. Back in the day, like more than half a decade ago, we migrated a lot of boards to printk, but we never cleaned up the existing code to be consistent. instead, we worked around the problem with a very messy console.h (nowadays the mess is hidden in romstage_console.c and early_print.h) This patch cleans up the southbridge code to use printk() on all non-ROMCC boards. 2014-10-22cmos: Rename the CMOS related functions.Gabe Black
Most of the code related to the mc146818 is not related to the RTC and is really for managing the CMOS storage. Since we intend to add a generic API for RTC drivers it's inconvenient for those functions to have an rtc_ prefix. This CL renames those functions so they start with cmos_ instead. There are some places where rtc_init was called with a comment that says something about starting the RTC. That wasn't correct before (the RTC is always running), but it looks a little odd now that the function is called cmos_init. This CL also opportunistically cleans up some style problems in this file. Removing `-Wno-unused-but-set-variable` from `CFLAGS` the build for QEMU Q35 and Roda RK9, both using the Intel 82801Ix southbridge, fail with the following error. src/southbridge/intel/i82801ix/lpc.c: In function 'i82801ix_enable_apic': src/southbridge/intel/i82801ix/lpc.c:45:5: error: variable 'dummy' set but not used [-Werror=unused-but-set-variable] cc1: all warnings being treated as errors Removing `dummy` should be safe as GCC probably optimizes it away before anyway. 2013-08-29usbdebug: Change debug port scanningKyösti Mälkki
On AMD platforms, setting of USBDEBUG_DEFAULT_PORT=0 tries to scan all physical ports one after other in incrementing order. To avoid possible problems with other USB devices, one can select the port number here and bypass the scan. Intel platforms can communicate with usbdebug dongle on one physical port only, and this option makes no difference there. 2013-07-01usbdebug: Drop duplicates of EHCI BAR relocation codeKyösti Mälkki
All the additional work that needs to be done in EHCI BAR relocation is independent of the hardware platform and was functionally identical in all the copies removed. When USBDEBUG is not selected, PCI EHCI controllers use standard pci_dev_read_resources() call. With USBDEBUG selected, PCI EHCI controller's device_operations .read_resources is replaced with pci_ehci_read_resources() call, which in turn will replace the device_operations .set_resources call. The replacement for .set_resources reconfigures usbdebug driver side, and calls the original .set_resources to configure hardware side. 2013-03-22x86: Unify arch/io.h and arch/romcc_io.hStefan Reinauer
Here's the great news: From now on you don't have to worry about hitting the right io.h include anymore. Just forget about romcc_io.h and use io.h instead. This cleanup has a number of advantages, like you don't have to guard device/ includes for SMM and pre RAM anymore. This allows to get rid of a number of ifdefs and will generally make the code more readable and understandable. Potentially in the future some of the code in the io.h __PRE_RAM__ path should move to device.h or other device/ includes instead, but that's another incremental change.
