2020-03-17src (minus soc and mainboard): Remove copyright noticesPatrick Georgi
They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. 2019-02-11device/pci_ops: Move questionable pci_locate() variantsKyösti Mälkki
These are defined for __SIMPLE_DEVICE__ when PCI enumeration has not happened yet. These should not really try to probe devices other than those on bus 0. It's hard to track but there maybe cases of southbridge being located on bus 2 and available for configuration, so I rather leave the code unchanged. Just move these out of arch/io.h because they cause build failures if one attempts to include <arch/pci_ops.h> before <arch/io.h>. There are two direct copies for ROMCC bootblocks to avoid inlining them elsewhere. 2017-11-03sb/intel/i82371eb: Consolidate bootblock.c logicKeith Hui
The southbridge bootblock entry point bootblock_southbridge_init() just calls i82371eb_enable_rom() which does all the work. Move all that code into bootblock_southbridge_init() and drop the second function. Plus combine the 3 lines that set 3 bits in XBCS into one. 2015-10-31tree: drop last paragraph of GPL copyright headerPatrick Georgi
It encourages users from writing to the FSF without giving an address. Linux also prefers to drop that and their checkpatch.pl (that we imported) looks out for that. This is the result of util/scripts/no-fsf-addresses.sh with no further editing. 2015-05-21Remove address from GPLv2 headersPatrick Georgi
As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a new lease, but can drop the address instead. util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that we may want to synchronize every now and then. $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin St, Fifth Floor, Boston, *MA[, ]*02110-1301[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin Street, Suite 500, Boston, MA 02110-1335, USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 59 Temple Place[-, ]*Suite 330, Boston, MA *02111-1307[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA.:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -a \! -name \*.patch \ -a \! -name \*_shipped \ -a \! -name LICENSE_GPL \ -a \! -name LGPL.txt \ -a \! -name COPYING \ -a \! -name DISCLAIMER \ -exec sed -i "/Foundation, Inc./ N;s:Foundation, Inc.* USA\.* *:Foundation, Inc. :;s:Foundation, Inc. $:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + Change-Id: Icc968a5a5f3a5df8d32b940f9cdb35350654bef9 Signed-off-by: Patrick Georgi <pgeorgi@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: http://review.coreboot.org/9233 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) Reviewed-by: Vladimir Serbinenko <phcoder@gmail.com>

2013-03-22x86: Unify arch/io.h and arch/romcc_io.hStefan Reinauer
Here's the great news: From now on you don't have to worry about hitting the right io.h include anymore. Just forget about romcc_io.h and use io.h instead. This cleanup has a number of advantages, like you don't have to guard device/ includes for SMM and pre RAM anymore. This allows to get rid of a number of ifdefs and will generally make the code more readable and understandable. Potentially in the future some of the code in the io.h __PRE_RAM__ path should move to device.h or other device/ includes instead, but that's another incremental change. 2010-12-09Merge enable_rom.c files into bootblock.c files.Uwe Hermann
All southbridges using TINY_BOOTBLOCK have a bootblock.c files which simply includes an enable_rom.c files. As discussed on the mailing list, drop the enable_rom.c file by merging it into bootblock.c. 2010-12-08first round name simplification. drop the <component>_ prefix.stepan
the prefix was introduced in the early v2 tree many years ago because our old build system "newconfig" could not handle two files with the same name in different paths like /path/to/usb.c and /another/path/to/usb.c correctly. Only one of the files would end up being compiled into the final image. Since Kconfig (actually since shortly before we switched to Kconfig) we don't suffer from that problem anymore. So we could drop the sb700_ prefix from all those filenames (or, the <componentname>_ prefix in general) - makes it easier to fork off a new chipset - makes it easier to diff against other chipsets - storing redundant information in filenames seems wrong Signed-off-by: <stepan@coresystems.de> Acked-by: Patrick Georgi <patrick@georgi-clan.de> Acked-by: Peter Stuge <peter@stuge.se> git-svn-id: svn://svn.coreboot.org/coreboot/trunk@6149 2b7e53f0-3cfb-0310-b3e9-8179ed1497e1
2010-10-07Convert all Intel 82371AB/EB/MB based boards to TINY_BOOTBLOCK.Uwe Hermann
Also: Unfortunately Intel 440BX + 82371AB/EB/MB boards can have their ISA device on various PCI bus:device.function locations. Examples we encountered: 00:07.0, 00:04.0, or 00:14.0. Thus, instead of hardcoding PCI bus:device.function numbers such as PCI_DEV(0, 7, 0), we now simply find the ISA device via PCI IDs, which works the same on all boards. As an additional benefit this patch also gets rid of one .c file include in romstage.c. Abuild-tested.
