2021-01-11{soc,vc,mb}/intel: Drop support for Cannon Lake SoCFelix Singer
Drop the support for the Intel Cannon Lake SoC for various reasons: * Most people can't use coreboot on Cannon Lake, since the required FSP binaries aren't publicly available. Given that FSP binaries for several newer platforms have been released, it's very unlikely that Cannon Lake FSP will ever be released. * It seems there is no interest in this, since the reference mainboard is the only available mainboard in tree. Also, remove the related reference mainboard intel/cannonlake_rvp and its FSP headers in intel/fsp2_0/cannonlake. 2020-09-14soc/intel/common/cpu: Update COS mask calculation for NEM enhanced modeAamir Bohra
Update the COS mask calculation to accomodate the RW data as per SoC configuration. Currently only one way is allocated for RW data and configured for non-eviction. For earlier platform this served fine, and could accomodate a RW data up to 256Kb. Starting TGL and JSL, the DCACHE_RAM_SIZE is configured for 512Kb, which cannot be mapped to a single way. Hence update the number of ways to be configured for non- eviction as per total LLC size. The total LLC size/ number of ways gives the way size. DCACHE_RAM_SIZE/ way size gives the number of ways that need to be configured for non- eviction, instead of harcoding it to 1. TGL uses MSR IA32_CR_SF_QOS_MASK_1(0x1891) and IA32_CR_SF_QOS_MASK_2(0x1892) as COS mask selection register and hence needs to be progarmmed accordingly. Also JSL and TGL platforms the COS mask selection is mapped to bit 32:33 of MSR IA32_PQR_ASSOC(0xC8F) and need to be updated in edx(maps 63:32) before MSR write instead of eax(maps 31:0). This implementation corrects that as well. BUG=b:149273819 TEST= Boot waddledoo(JSL), hatch(CML), Volteer(TGL)with NEM enhanced CAR configuration. 2019-12-163rdparty/fsp: Update to current master againNico Huber
We had to role the `fsp` submodule back for a minute due to a regression with the Coffee Lake binary. Intel silently mixed FSP 2.1 features into the Coffee Lake FSP which is supposed to be FSP 2.0. With the stack and heap usage partitioned for FSP using coreboot's stack (config FSP_USES_ CB_STACK), it works again. To make this even messier: We already selected this Kconfig option for Whiskey Lake, which is supposed to use the very same FSP binary. 2019-11-03cpu/x86/tsc: Flip and rename TSC_CONSTANT_RATE to UNKNOWN_TSC_RATEKyösti Mälkki
The x86 timers are a bit of a mess. Cases where different stages use different counters and timestamps use different counters from udelays. The original intention was to only flip TSC_CONSTANT_RATE Kconfig to NOT_CONSTANT_TSC_RATE. The name would be incorrect though, those counters do run with a constant rate but we just lack tsc_freq_mhz() implementation for three platforms. Note that for boards with UNKNOWN_TSC_RATE=y, each stage will have a slow run of calibrate_tsc_with_pit(). This is easy enough to fix with followup implementation of tsc_freq_mhz() for the platforms. Implementations with LAPIC_MONOTONIC_TIMER typically will not have tsc_freq_mhz() implemented and default to UNKNOWN_TSC_RATE. However, as they don't use TSC for udelay() the slow calibrate_tsc_with_pit() is avoided. Because x86/tsc_delay.tsc was using two different guards and nb/via/vx900 claimed UDELAY_TSC, but pulled UDELAY_IO implementation, we also switch that romstage to use UDELAY_TSC. 2019-06-28soc/intel/cannonlake: fix use of legacy 8254 timerMatt DeVillier
FSP sets the use of the 8254 timer via the Enable8254ClockGating UPD, which defaults to enabled, overriding what is set by coreboot. Per the FSP integration guide, this UPD needs to be disabled when a legacy OS is booted (ie, when SeaBIOS is used as the payload). Add a Kconfig option to set the UPD properly based on payload selection, and remove the existing coreboot code in lpc.c since it is either ineffective or being overridden by FSP. Test: build/boot out-of-tree WHL board with both SeaBIOS and Tianocore, ensure 8254 timer usage set correctly for each. 2019-02-27soc/intel/cannonlake: Add a config for configuring SD_VDD1_PWR_EN#Rizwan Qureshi
SD controller in CNL-PCH provides a ability to configure the behavior of SD_VDD1_PWR_EN# as an active high or low signal. FSP provides an UPD "SdCardPowerEnableActiveHigh" to control the same. However, for platforms using SD_VDD1_PWR_EN# as active high, the SDXC card connector is always powered and may impact system power. This is because SD_VDD1_PWR_EN# does not de-assert during SDXC D3 or when SD card is not inserted. Workaround is to change the pad ownership of SD_VDD1_PWR_EN to GPIO and force the TX buffer to low in _PS3. And restore the pad mode to native function in _PS0. Hence add a Kconfig option to update the UPD, which the board can select based on how the SD_VDD1_PWR_EN is implemented on it. And, the workaround gets applied based on this config. The option to specify a binary file name was added later for platforms that do not provide microcode updates in our blobs repository. Alas, it wasn't visible what platforms these are. And if you specified a file for a platform that already had one, they were all included together. Make it visible which platforms don't provide binaries with the new con- figs MICROCODE_BLOB_NOT_IN_BLOB_REPO, MICROCODE_BLOB_NOT_HOOKED_UP and MICROCODE_BLOB_UNDISCLOSED. Based on that we can decide if we want to include binaries by default or explicitly show that no files are inclu- ded (default to CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_NONE). Also split CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_GENERATE into the more explicit CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_DEFAULT_BINS and CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_EXTERNAL_BINS. And clean up the visibility of options: Don't show CBFS related options on platforms that don't support it and don't show external file options if the platform uses special rules for multiple files (CPU_MICROCODE_ MULTIPLE_FILES). BUG= None TEST= Build for both CFL RVP11 & RVP8 and verified for successful CAR setup. Build for both leafhill and harcuvar platform by selecting CONFIG_FSP_CAR without errors. 2018-10-22intel: Use CF9 reset (part 2)Patrick Rudolph
Make use of the common CF9 reset in SOC_INTEL_COMMON_RESET. Also implement board_reset() as a "full reset" (aka. cold reset) as that is what was used here for hard_reset(). Drop soc_reset_prepare() thereby, as it was only used for APL. Also, move the global-reset logic. We leave some comments to remind us that a system_reset() should be enough, where a full_reset() is called now (to retain current behaviour) and looks suspicious. Note, as no global_reset() is implemented for Denverton-NS, we halt there now instead of issuing a non-global reset. This seems safer; a non-global reset might result in a reset loop. 2018-10-12drivers/intel/fsp2_0: Hook up IntelFSP repoPatrick Georgi
With https://github.com/IntelFsp/FSP/pull/4 merged, this allows using Intel's FSP repo (that we mirror) to build a complete BIOS ifd region with a simple coreboot build, automatically drawing in headers and binaries. This commit covers Apollolake, Coffeelake, Skylake, and Kabylake. Skylake is using Kabylake's FSP since its own is FSP 1.1 and Kabylake's also supports Skylake. Another candidate (given 3rdparty/fsp's content) is Denverton NS, but it requires changes to coreboot's FSP bindings to become compatible. Cannonlake, Whiskeylake require an FSP release. 2018-09-13src/*/intel/: clarify Kconfig options regarding IFDStefan Tauner
HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid. Refine the help text to make this clear. Introduce a new option INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE that does simply declare that IFD is supported by the platform. Select this value everywhere instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected. Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to the mainboard directory.
