2024-08-05soc/amd: add PSP SMI handler stubFelix Held
The PSP can send SMIs to the x86 side to have the SMI handler service requests from the PSP. This commit adds an empty PSP SMI handler; the actual implementation is added in later patches to keep the patches relatively small. This patch is a slightly modified version of parts of CB:65523. 2022-10-17soc/amd/*/smihandler: Make fch_apmc_smi_handler commonFred Reitberger
Rename soc/amd/common/block/cpu/smm/smi_ampc_helper.c to smi_apmc.c and add the fch_apmc_smi_handler function. Remove the duplicated function from picasso, cezanne, mendocino, and morgana SoC. The stoneyridge soc does not implement the APM_CNT_SMMINFO handler, so give the handler a unique name that does not conflict with the common handler name. 2022-08-17soc/amd/cezanne,picasso,sabrina/smihandler: add comment about SMN accessFelix Held
The SMI sleep entry handler will access the SMN space via the index/data register at PCI config space offsets 0xb8 and 0xbc of the device at bus 0, device 0, function 0. This register pair is also used by other software components running on the x86 cores after boot, so it should be saved and restored at the beginning/end of the SMI handler if it accesses SMN. The sleep entry SMI handler is a special case, since the OS is already done at the moment we enter the sleep SMI handler which is the last code that gets run on the x86 cores before entering S3/4/5. 2022-02-07treewide: Remove "ERROR: "/"WARN: " prefixes from log messagesJulius Werner
Now that the console system itself will clearly differentiate loglevels, it is no longer necessary to explicitly add "ERROR: " in front of every BIOS_ERR message to help it stand out more (and allow automated tooling to grep for it). Removing all these extra .rodata characters should save us a nice little amount of binary size. This patch was created by running find src/ -type f -exec perl -0777 -pi -e 's/printk\(\s*BIOS_ERR,\s*"ERROR: /printk\(BIOS_ERR, "/gi' '{}' ';' and doing some cursory review/cleanup on the result. This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. So that everyone can see what's being updated from stoney, we're starting with a direct copy of the stoney directory. There are arguments both for and against doing it this way, but I believe This the most transparent way. We've moved much of the duplicated stoney code into the soc/amd/common directory and will continue that work as it becomes obvious that we have unchanged code between the SOCs. Makefile.inc has been renamed as makefile.inc so that it won't build in jenkins until the directory is updated. Other than that change, this is an exact copy of the stoneyridge SOC directory which will be updated in the follow-on commits in the patch train.
