2023-05-11mb/siemens/mc_apl5: Set Full Reset Bit into Reset Control RegisterMario Scheithauer
With the introduction of a new Linux version a problem has appeared after a software initiated reset via CF9h register. The problem manifests itself in the fact that the Linux kernel does not start after the reboot. The problem is solved by setting bit 3 to 1 in Reset Control Register (I/O port CF9h). This leads to the fact that the PCH will drive SLP_S3 active low in the reset sequence. It leads to the same behavior as in commit 04ea73ee78bc ("siemens/mc_apl3: Set Full Reset Bit into Reset Control Register") explained. As discused earlier, the callback name 'mb_adjust_cfg' was considered too generic. The new naming is chosen to be consistent with other drivers' callback names designed to be used at mainboard level. 2022-12-23mb/siemens/mc_apl{4,7}: Limit I2C bus speed to 100 kHz on bus 7Werner Zeh
Due to a high I2C bus load on the mainboard I2C frequency of 400 kHz leads to poor signaling. Therefore limit the I2C speed to 100 kHz for this bus. In addition, add a generic I2C device with 100 kHz bus speed to the devicetree so that the OS will not switch to higher clock rates, too. Test= Measure the I2C signals at coreboot and OS runtime and ensure the clock is always at 100 kHz. 2022-10-22mb/siemens/mc_apl*: Enable early PCI bridge before FSP-MAngel Pons
Apollo Lake seems to start with PCIe root ports unusable/uninitialized before FspMemoryInit() is called and FSP-M properly initializes these root ports. However, we need the root ports accessible before FspMemoryInit() in certain cases, such as emitting POST codes through a PCIe device. For the initialization to happen properly, certain register writes specified in Apollo Lake IAFW BIOS spec, vol. 2 (#559811), chapter 3.3.1 have to be done. BUG=none TEST=Boot on siemens/mc_apl2 with NC_FPGA_POST_CODE enabled and check that the POST codes are emitted before FspMemoryInit(). 2022-05-18intel/common/block: Provide RAPL and min clock ratio switches in commonUwe Poeche
There are two APL specific config switches for RAPL and min. cpu clock (APL_SKIP_SET_POWER_LIMITS, APL_SET_MIN_CLOCK_RATIO). These switches could be used in future in other CPU platforms. Move them to common code instead of having them just for one SOC. Test: Make sure that the clock ratio (MSR 0x198) and the RAPL settings (MSR0x610) do not change with this patch applied on mc_apl{1,4,5} mainboard. On mc_apl2 the external RTC is connected to I2C bus 3. All other I2C bus devices (16.0, 16.1 and 16.2) have been disabled as they are not used. While coreboot can handle the case where a PCI device does not have function 0 enabled but a later one (here function 3), Linux seems to check for function 0 first and ignores the rest if function 0 is missing. So enable PCI device 16.0 in order to let Linux use 16.3 again. Test=Boot into Linux and make sure that PCI device 16.0 and 16.3 are visible and I2C attached RTC works properly. In this case we still want the MRC cache to be around to avoid the DRAM retraining on every boot. Already released Linux versions did not have the needed ACPI-extension in the RTC driver. If the ACPI-Support is enabled for the RTC, this older Linux will not be able to use this device as it will be claimed by the PNP-drivers. As there is no way to avoid that an older Linux kernel meets a newer coreboot in the field, we need to disable the ACPI support for the RTC for the mc_apl-based mainboards. All the boards in the patch have a constraint for the I2C bus to operate on 100 kHz. Provide dedicated values for rise time, fall time and data hold time on mainboard level to get a proper timing which takes the bus load into account. Giving these values the driver computes the needed timings correctly. TEST=Measure I2C frequency on all boards while coreboot accesses external RTC and make sure it is 100 kHz. UART pad configuration should not be done in common code, because that may cause short circuits, when the user sets a wrong UART index. Thus, add the corresponding pads to the early UART gpio table for the board as a first step. Common UART pad config code then gets dropped in CB:48829. Also switch to `bootblock_mainboard_early_init` to configure the pads in early bootblock before console initialization, to make the console work as early as possible. The board does not do any other gpio configuration in bootblock, so this should not influence behaviour in a negative way (e.g. breaking overrides). 2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all. 2020-03-31security/vboot: Decouple measured boot from verified bootBill XIE
Currently, those who want to use measured boot implemented within vboot should enable verified boot first, along with sections such as GBB and RW slots defined with manually written fmd files, even if they do not actually want to verify anything. As discussed in CB:34977, measured boot should be decoupled from verified boot and make them two fully independent options. Crypto routines necessary for measurement could be reused, and TPM and CRTM init should be done somewhere other than vboot_logic_executed() if verified boot is not enabled. In this revision, only TCPA log is initialized during bootblock. Before TPM gets set up, digests are not measured into tpm immediately, but cached in TCPA log, and measured into determined PCRs right after TPM is up. This change allows those who do not want to use the verified boot scheme implemented by vboot as well as its requirement of a more complex partition scheme designed for chromeos to make use of the measured boot functionality implemented within vboot library to measure the boot process. TODO: Measure MRC Cache somewhere, as MRC Cache has never resided in CBFS any more, so it cannot be covered by tspi_measure_cbfs_hook(). 2019-07-18mb/siemens/mc_apl1: Disable all UHS-I SD-Card speed modesMario Scheithauer
The limitation for SD-Card was originally only made for mc_apl2 mainboard. Since other mc_apl mainboards also use the SD-Card interface, the speed mode setting is made in the parent mainboard_final. In additional, all UHS-I bus speed modes are disabled because of a limitation for industry use cases. This means that only HS mode is permitted.
