2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all. 2020-04-14mainboard/lenovo: Use the original hardware ids for keyboard/pointingdalao
Currently coreboot is using the compatible ID PNP0303 for all keyboards and PNP0F13 for all pointing devices, which causes some problems. On Windows, the touchpad driver can't be automatically matched and installed through Windows Update. On Linux, there are some strange issues. So it's better to use the original hardware IDs for each model. 2019-11-12ec/lenovo/h8: Make dock init in ramstage fully mainboard-specificBill XIE
Discussed in CB:36093, in the past many lenovo boards need to declare an empty h8_mainboard_init_dock() to satisfy h8.c. Now the confusing H8_DOCK_EARLY_INIT might be retired, and if a mainboard needs dock init (done with h8_mainboard_init_dock() in the past) in ramstage, (discussed in CB:4294 where H8_DOCK_EARLY_INIT is introduced) it can just do it in its own chip_ops.enable_dev function. Tested on X200. Testing on other affected targets may be necessary. 2019-10-25mb/lenovo/{t60,r60}: Add ThinkPad R60 support as variant boardMaccraft
- This port should be Reclaim Your Freedom compliant (not certified yet). - Untested on boards with external Radeon graphics adapter. - Some columns on the left-most side of display are completely black on 1400x1050 IPS display[1]. Display works fine on Linux. I don't know why it appears like that. So far it has been observed only with native graphics initialization. - Only GRUB2 and SeaBIOS payloads tested for now. - 2504 docking station USB doesn't work under Linux. Can detect pendrive in GRUB2 payload. - Sometimes it takes 20s of "pretending it's powered off" to run coreboot code. Issue is payload agnostic. Probably caused by missing one capacitor on my unit. Having same memory region set as both WRPROT and WRBACK using MTRRs is undefined behaviour. This could happen if we allow DCACHE_RAM_BASE to be located within CBFS in SPI flash memory and XIP romstage is at the same location. As SPI master by default decodes all of top 16MiB below 4GiB, initial cache-as-ram line fills may have actually read from SPI flash even in the case DCACHE_RAM_BASE was below the nominal 4GiB - ROM_SIZE. There are no reasons to have this as board-specific setting. Presumably the MKHP method wouldn't get called unless there were a pending event, but if no event is found, return a zero. Remove use of global variables uma_memory_base and uma_memory_size from builds with Intel northbridges, as these variables can be kept within the chipset or even as stack locals. Intel platforms have no functional implemenation for option GFXUMA. If we did implement some choice between external and integrated graphics, it needs to be named in less obscure fashion. Instead of depending on exact mobo configure general characteristic whether dock is configured in romstage or ramstage. X60 and T60 have superio in dock so it needs to be inited to get serial, so it should be inited in romstage. On X201 there is nothing useful that early in boot but it's needed to init more to get dock working, in particular EC init needs to be done first. Originally brought up by Sven Schnelle in March 2011 http://patchwork.coreboot.org/patch/2801/ http://www.coreboot.org/pipermail/coreboot/2011-March/064277.html On some mainboards it may be neccessary to reset early during resume from S3 if the SLFRCS register indicates that a memory channel is not guaranteed to be in self-refresh. On other mainboards, such as Lenovo X60 and T60, the check always creates false positives, effectively making it impossible to resume. The SLFRCS register is documented on page 197 of Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family Datasheet Document Number: 309219-006 which is publically available, and the register indicates if a memory channel is guaranteed to be in self-refresh mode (if bit = 1), or that a memory channel *may or may not be* in self-refresh mode (if bit = 0). The register can thus only be used to positively learn that memory is in self-refresh. It is not known for sure that memory is *not* in self-refresh. The register is reset by the PWROK signal, which *should* go low during S3, and go high again when resuming, so it is unsurprising that SLFRCS has already been cleared when we read the register. Sven's measurements of the CKE signal on a ThinkPad shows that memory remains in self-refresh indefinitely, until coreboot re-initializes the memory controller, even when SLFRCS bits were = 0. Boards which require a warm reset when SLFRCS bits are cleared must now explicitly enable the check in the mainboard Kconfig file. This commit selects the new option in all existing i945 mainboards. A follow-up commit will remove the option for ThinkPads.
