2020-12-02cbfs: Simplify load/map API names, remove type argumentsJulius Werner
This patch renames cbfs_boot_map_with_leak() and cbfs_boot_load_file() to cbfs_map() and cbfs_load() respectively. This is supposed to be the start of a new, better organized CBFS API where the most common operations have the most simple and straight-forward names. Less commonly used variants of these operations (e.g. cbfs_ro_load() or cbfs_region_load()) can be introduced later. It seems unnecessary to keep carrying around "boot" in the names of most CBFS APIs if the vast majority of accesses go to the boot CBFS (instead, more unusual operations should have longer names that describe how they diverge from the common ones). cbfs_map() is paired with a new cbfs_unmap() to allow callers to cleanly reap mappings when desired. A few new cbfs_unmap() calls are added to generic code where it makes sense, but it seems unnecessary to introduce this everywhere in platform or architecture specific code where the boot medium is known to be memory-mapped anyway. In fact, even for non-memory-mapped platforms, sometimes leaking a mapping to the CBFS cache is a much cleaner solution than jumping through hoops to provide some other storage for some long-lived file object, and it shouldn't be outright forbidden when it makes sense. Additionally, remove the type arguments from these function signatures. The goal is to eventually remove type arguments for lookup from the whole CBFS API. Filenames already uniquely identify CBFS files. The type field is just informational, and there should be APIs to allow callers to check it when desired, but it's not clear what we gain from forcing this as a parameter into every single CBFS access when the vast majority of the time it provides no additional value and is just clutter. 2020-09-06mb: remove duplicated Make code for spd.bin generationMichael Niewöhner
Drop duplicated code for spd.bin generation that is provided globally in lib/Makefile.inc. For all affected boards it has been verified that the output binary functionally matches the original one. The changed execution order of Make instructions influenced the cbfs file order. Hence, the rom images can't be compared directly. Thus, the output files of the two timeless abuild runs have been compared. Further, it was verified that the final files in cbfs stay identical, by comparing the extracted cbfs of each board. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. Changes allow to use the integrated panel logic (power sequen- cing and backlight control) for more connectors. The Kconfigs GFX_GMA_PANEL_1_PORT and GFX_GMA_PANEL_2_PORT can now be set to any port, e.g. config GFX_GMA_PANEL_1_PORT default "DP3" Now that the panel logic is not tied to the `Internal` port choice anymore, we can properly split it into `LVDS` and `eDP`. This also adds Comet Lake PCI IDs which should still work the same as Kaby and Coffee Lake. FreeBSD's sh (basic posix shell) did not interpret the '\%o' escape in the same way bash/zsh do. As a result, the decoded files ended up with ASCII numbers instead of the decoded binary data. 2019-09-17mb/lenovo/t430s: Open PCIe port #5 for Thunderbolt controllerBill XIE
Some T430s variants have a Thunderbolt controller wired to PCIe port The controller hotplugs itself to the chipset when a downstream device is hotplugged into it, so the hotplug capability should be enabled on PCIe port #5. TODO: find the correct gpio pin to detect the Thunderbolt controller at runtime. There are 3 variants of mainboard for Thinkpad T430s: Basic type (Wistron LSN-4 11263-1), Boards with an additional discreet GPU, Boards with an additional TB controller (Wistron LSN-4 11271-1), each of which has a different schematic. The gpio27 on the last type is set as set as GPIO-INPUT, compared with GPIO-OUTPUT-HIGH on the basic type boards. The code is based on autoport and that for T430s Tested: - CPU i5-3337U - Slotted DIMM 2GiB - Soldered RAM 4GiB from samsung (There may be more models here) - Camera - pci-e and usb2 on M.2 slot with A key for wlan - sata and usb2 (no superspeed components) on M.2 slot with B key for wwan - On board SDHCI connected to pci-e - USB3 ports - libgfxinit-based graphic init - NVRAM options for North and South bridges - Sound - Thinkpad EC - S3 - TPM1 on LPC - EHCI debug on SSP2 (USB3 port on the left) - Linux 4.9.110-3 within Debian GNU/Linux stable, loaded from Linux payload (Heads), Seabios may also work. Not tested: - Fingerprint reader on USB2 (not present on mine) - Keyboard backlight (not present on mine) - "sticky_fn" flag in nvram Not implemented yet: - Fn locking in nvram (may not be identical to "sticky_fn") - C-based native graphic init (since T431s has eDP instead of LVDS) - Detecting the model of Soldered RAM at runtime, and loading the corresponding SPD datum (3 observed) from CBFS (the mechanism may be similar to that on x1_carbon_gen1 and s230u, but I do not know how to find gpio ports for that, and SPD data stored in vendor firmware.)
