2024-09-30drivers/i2c/at24rf08c: Disable DRIVER_LENOVO_SERIALS by defaultNicholas Sudsgaard
This should be the sane default, as having this option enabled when the AT24RF08C (Asset Identification EEPROM) is not present on the mainboard can cause SMBIOS table entries to become "*INVALID*". This can, for example, result in strange hostnames when an OS installer uses SMBIOS information to automatically generate one. On the other hand, the coreboot generated SMBIOS tables will at least always contain basic information. Therefore, this driver should be treated as an enhancement rather than a default. Currently, the following mainboards have this option disabled: - ThinkCentre M710s - ThinkCentre M700 / M900 Tiny - Haswell ThinkPads - ThinkPad T440p - ThinkPad W541 Therefore, we can remove this option entirely on these mainboards. Note that there may be other mainboards which do not have this chip present but still have the option enabled. However, this requires a more detailed investigation which would be out of scope of this change. TESTS=Timeless builds on lenovo mainboards produce the same binary. config INCLUDE_CONFIG_FILE default n Was temporarily added to `mb/lenovo/Kconfig` during these tests, as while the configuration does not change, the order of entries do. Therefore, technically producing a different binary when included. 2024-04-13lenovo/haswell: enable ONBOARD_VGA_IS_PRIMARYLeah Rowe
Haswell ThinkPads have Nvidia Optimus wired in on some models. With recent coreboot changes, legacy VGA decode is now disabled on the iGPU, and the iGPU itself is disabled, when a dGPU is present. This is a problem on Optimus laptops, because it means that the Intel GPU would be effectively disabled, when it is the one that has to handle the framebuffer. On these boards, you can enable ONBOARD_VGA_IS_PRIMARY so that coreboot does not disable the iGPU. This is because on Optimus laptops, the Nvidia GPU is only used for offloaded rendering. Enable ONBOARD_VGA_IS_PRIMARY by default on these boards. 2024-02-12ec/lenovo/h8/acpi: Support pulsing LEDLOGO on Haswell ThinkPadsEvgeny Sorokin
The name LEDLOGO comes from schematics. It's the red indicator, embedded in the dot of the 'i' of the ThinkPad logo on laptop's lid. In vendor firmware, this led starts fading in-and-out, or, in other words, pulsing, when laptop is put to S3. It helps to determine whether the laptop is in S3 just by taking a look at the logo. As of now, coreboot doesn't do anything with this particular indicator, it's always in enabled (on) state, which is not very convenient. This patch fixes it. Tested on T440p. 2023-03-08mb/lenovo: Enable VBOOT_VBNV_FLASHYu-Ping Wu
To deprecate VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS [1], replace VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS with VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH for lenovo boards: t400, t410, t420, t420s, t430, t430s, t520, t530, x131e, x1_carbon_gen1, x60, x200, x201, x220, x230. A 0x2000 RW_NVRAM region is allocated for them, with the COREBOOT size reduced by 0x2000. Also remove the VBOOT_VBNV_OFFSET config, since it's only used for VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS. 2022-10-27mb/lenovo/haswell: Enable VBOOT_VBNV_FLASHYu-Ping Wu
To deprecate VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS [1], replace VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS with VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH for Haswell. Currently BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_NO_EARLY_WRITES is selected for CPU_INTEL_HASWELL (see [2]). However, there seems to be no particular reason on those platforms. Flashconsole works on Broadwell, at least, and it writes to flash as early as bootblock. Therefore, remove BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH_NO_EARLY_WRITES, so that VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH can be enabled.
