2024-01-24mb/hp to mb/kontron: Rename Makefiles from .inc to .mkMartin Roth
The .inc suffix is confusing to various tools as it's not specific to Makefiles. This means that editors don't recognize the files, and don't open them with highlighting and any other specific editor functionality. This issue is also seen in the release notes generation script where Makefiles get renamed before running cloc. 2023-08-06mainboard: Add SPDX license headers to MakefilesMartin Roth
To help identify the licenses of the various files contained in the coreboot source, we've added SPDX headers to the top of all of the .c and .h files. This extends that practice to Makefiles. Any file in the coreboot project without a specific license is bound to the license of the overall coreboot project, GPL Version 2. This patch adds the GPL V2 license identifier to the top of all makefiles in the mainboard directory that don't already have an SPDX license line at the top. Normally, selecting FSP_USE_REPO will select FSP_FULL_FD which then will configure the proper paths for FSP_M_FILE and FSP_S_FILE. The override in these two boards caused FSP_M_FILE and FSP_S_FILE being empty despite ADD_FSP_BINARIES being selected by FSP_USE_REPO which is an invalid case that needs to be avoided, so remove the board-level override of those two options. 2021-01-21mb/intel/minnow3: do UART pad configuration at board-levelMichael Niewöhner
UART pad configuration should not be done in common code, because that may cause short circuits, when the user sets a wrong UART index. Thus, add the corresponding pads to the early UART gpio table for the board as a first step. Common UART pad config code then gets dropped in CB:48829. Also switch to `bootblock_mainboard_early_init` to configure the pads in early bootblock before console initialization, to make the console work as early as possible. The board does not do any other gpio configuration in bootblock, so this should not influence behaviour in a negative way (e.g. breaking overrides). 2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. DSDT revision is =1 for ACPI v1 and =2 for greater ACPI version. This will cause the AML interpreter to use 32-bit integers and math if the version is 1, and 64-bit if the version is >=2. 2018-03-16soc/intel/apollolake and mainboards: Use pcie_rp_clkreq_pin arrayFurquan Shaikh
This change uses an array pcie_rp_clkreq_pin for accepting CLKREQ# from mainboards instead of defining a separate property for each root port. This allows us to use memcpy to copy the entire array into FSP params as well as new properties for PCIe root ports can be added as arrays in future CLs.
