2021-01-18ACPI: Select ACPI_SOC_NVS only where suitableKyösti Mälkki
Having some symmetry with <soc/nvs.h> now allows to reduce the amount of gluelogic to determine the size and cbmc field of struct global_nvs. Since GNVS creation is now controlled by ACPI_SOC_NVS, drivers/amd/agesa/nvs.c becomes obsolete and soc/amd/cezanne cannot have this selected until <soc/nvs.h> exists. 2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. 2018-11-01sb/intel/common: Create a common implementation of `acpi_fill_madt()`Tristan Corrick
The function `acpi_fill_madt()` is identical among all the Lynx Point boards and sb/intel/bd82x6x, so share a common function between them. Earlier Intel platforms have similar implementations of this function. The common implementation might only need minor alterations to support them. Tested on an ASRock H81M-HDS and Google Peppy (variant of Slippy). No issues arose from this patch. Old igd.asl had inconsistent addresses (between _DOD and actual device) and ghost devices. Any of those is enough to make brightness on windows fail and make igd.asl out-of-ACPI-spec. Also old code favoured ridiculous copying of the same thing 6 times per chipset. Leave only hooking up and chipset-specific part in chipset directory. Move NVS handling and ACPI-spec parts to a common file. 2013-04-01lynxpoint: Move ACPI NVS into separate CBMEM tableDuncan Laurie
The ACPI NVS region was setup in place and there was a CBMEM table that pointed to it. In order to be able to use NVS earlier the CBMEM region is allocated for NVS itself during the LPC device init and the ACPI tables point to it in CBMEM. The current cbmem region is renamed to ACPI_GNVS_PTR to indicate that it is really a pointer to the GNVS and does not actually contain the GNVS. 2013-03-22haswell: use dynamic cbmemAaron Durbin
Convert the existing haswell code to support reloctable ramstage to use dynamic cbmem. This patch always selects DYNAMIC_CBMEM as this option is a hard requirement for relocatable ramstage. Aside from converting a few new API calls, a cbmem_top() implementation is added which is defined to be at the begining of the TSEG region. Also, use the dynamic cbmem library for allocating a stack in ram for romstage after CAR is torn down. Utilizing dynamic cbmem does mean that the cmem field in the gnvs chromeos acpi table is now 0. Also, the memconsole driver in the kernel won't be able to find the memconsole because the cbmem structure changed.
