2024-02-21mb/google/volteer: Disable PM ACPI timer to fix S0i3 regressionMatt DeVillier
Keeping the PM timer enabled will disqualify an ADL system from entering S0i3, and will also cause an increase in power during suspend states. The PM timer is not required for brya boards, therefore disabling it. Fixes: 0e90580 (soc/intel: transition full control over PM Timer from FSP to coreboot) This mirrors an identical commit for google/brya: 1ce0f3aab72d ("mb/google/brya: Fix S0i3 regression") TEST=Boot Linux on google/drobit, verify S0i3 counter incrementing after exiting S0ix suspend states. 2023-05-05vc/google: Decouple DSM_CALIB from CHROMEOSMatt DeVillier
DSM (Dynamic Speaker Management) uses calibration parameters stored in a VPD (Vital Product Data) FMAP region to configure the audio output via an ACPI _DSD table. This has no dependency on a ChromeOS, and can be used by Linux/Windows drivers if appropriately configured. Remove the dependency of DSM_CALIB (and the calibration file) on CHROMEOS and replace it with VPD, so that non-CHROMEOS builds can utilize this feature as well. Move files from underneath vc/google/chromeos to underscore the point. TEST=build/boot google/nightfury, dump ACPI, verify DSM calibraton parameters present in _DSD table. 2022-06-21security/vboot: Add support for GSCVD (Google "RO verification")Julius Werner
This patch adds a new CONFIG_VBOOT_GSCVD option that will be enabled by default for TPM_GOOGLE_TI50 devices. It makes the build system run the `futility gscvd` command to create a GSCVD (GSC verification data) which signs the CBFS trust anchor (bootblock and GBB). In order for this to work, boards will need to have an RO_GSCVD section in their FMAP, and production boards should override the CONFIG_VBOOT_GSC_BOARD_ID option with the correct ID for each variant. 2021-09-01mb/google/volteer: Fix USB4 enabling for volteer familyFurquan Shaikh
volteer baseboard was currently enabling TBT(USB4) devices in baseboard devicetree and also selecting the Kconfigs required for resource allocation above 4G for the USB4 controllers. However, not all volteer devices have USB4 support. This change fixes USB4 enabling for volteer family by making the following udpates: 1. TBT devices are moved from baseboard devicetree to individual override trees for the variants that actually support USB4. 2. When moving TBT devices to override tree, tbt_pcie_rp0 is marked as on instead of hidden for all variants other than volteer reference. This is because volteer reference is the only device that has an asymmetric support for USB4 (i.e. does not support USB4 on C0 port). 3. Kconfig selection for PCIEXP_HOTPLUG is moved to Kconfig.name for these variants. 2021-05-14cbfs: Increase mcache size defaultsJulius Werner
The CBFS mcache size default was eyeballed to what should be "hopefully enough" for most users, but some recent Chrome OS devices have already hit the limit. Since most current (and probably all future) x86 chipsets likely have the CAR space to spare, let's just double the size default for all supporting chipsets right now so that we hopefully won't run into these issues again any time soon. The CBFS_MCACHE_RW_PERCENTAGE default for CHROMEOS was set to 25 under the assumption that Chrome OS images have historically always had a lot more files in their RO CBFS than the RW (because l10n assets were only in RO). Unfortunately, this has recently changed with the introduction of updateable assets. While hopefully not that many boards will need these, the whole idea is that you won't know whether you need them yet at the time the RO image is frozen, and mcache layout parameters cannot be changed in an RW update. So better to use the normal 50/50 split on Chrome OS devices going forward so we are prepared for the eventuality of needing RW assets again. The RW percentage should really also be menuconfig-controllable, because this is something the user may want to change on the fly depending on their payload requirements. Move the option to the vboot Kconfigs because it also kinda belongs there anyway and this makes it fit in better in menuconfig. (I haven't made the mcache size menuconfig-controllable because if anyone needs to increase this, they can just override the default in the chipset Kconfig for everyone using that chipset, under the assumption that all boards of that chipset have the same amount of available CAR space and there's no reason not to use up the available space. This seems more in line with how this would work on non-x86 platforms that define this directly in their memlayout.ld.) Also add explicit warnings to both options that they mustn't be changed in an RW update to an older RO image. 2020-11-13mrc_cache: Move code for triggering memory training into mrc_cacheShelley Chen
Currently the decision of whether or not to use mrc_cache in recovery mode is made within the individual platforms' drivers (ie: fsp2.0, fsp1.1, etc.). As this is not platform specific, but uses common vboot infrastructure, the code can be unified and moved into mrc_cache. The conditions are as follows: 1. If HAS_RECOVERY_MRC_CACHE, use mrc_cache data (unless retrain switch is true) 2. If !HAS_RECOVERY_MRC_CACHE && VBOOT_STARTS_IN_BOOTBLOCK, this means that memory training will occur after verified boot, meaning that mrc_cache will be filled with data from executing RW code. So in this case, we never want to use the training data in the mrc_cache for recovery mode. 3. If !HAS_RECOVERY_MRC_CACHE && VBOOT_STARTS_IN_ROMSTAGE, this means that memory training happens before verfied boot, meaning that the mrc_cache data is generated by RO code, so it is safe to use for a recovery boot. 4. Any platform that does not use vboot should be unaffected. Additionally, we have removed the MRC_CLEAR_NORMAL_CACHE_ON_RECOVERY_RETRAIN config because the mrc_cache driver takes care of invalidating the mrc_cache data for normal mode. If the platform: 1. !HAS_RECOVERY_MRC_CACHE, always invalidate mrc_cache data 2. HAS_RECOVERY_MRC_CACHE, only invalidate if retrain switch is set BUG=b:150502246 BRANCH=None TEST=1. run dut-control power_state:rec_force_mrc twice on lazor ensure that memory retraining happens both times run dut-control power_state:rec twice on lazor ensure that memory retraining happens only first time 2. remove HAS_RECOVERY_MRC_CACHE from lazor Kconfig boot twice to ensure caching of memory training occurred on each boot. 2020-11-02mb/google/volteer: New variant for Volteer reworked with DauntlessJes Klinke
For development of the firmware to run on the Dauntless TPM, a number of Volteer2 devices are being reworked to replace the H1 chip with probe wires to connect to an external Dauntless development board. Some modification to the AP firmware is required, not least because the Dauntless chip is connected via I2C bus, instead of SPI. Most of the Dauntless developers will not otherwise have a Chrome OS chroot. Because of the above, I think it makes sense to have a new variant, for the reworked devices, which I intend to create with this CL. 2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all.
