2018-07-25drivers/tpm: Add TPM ramstage driver for devices without vboot.Philipp Deppenwiese
Logic: If vboot is not used and the tpm is not initialized in the romstage makes use of the ramstage driver to initialize the TPM globally without having setup calls in lower SoC level implementations. * Add TPM driver in ramstage chip init which calls the tpm_setup function. * Purge all occurrences of TPM init code and headers. * Only compile TIS drivers into ramstage except for vboot usage. * Remove Google Urara/Rotor TPM support because of missing i2c driver in ramstage. Merge the different coreboot table strapping ID structures into one because they're really just all the same, and I want to add more. Make the signature of the board_id() function return a uint32_t because that's also what goes in the coreboot table. Add a printk to the generic code handling strapping IDs in ramstage so that not every individual mainboard implementation needs its own print. (In turn, remove one such print from fsp1_1 code because it's in the way of my next patch.) 2017-12-06Kconfig: Remove BOARD_ID_MANUAL optionJulius Werner
The BOARD_ID_MANUAL and BOARD_ID_STRING options were introduced for the Urara board which is now long dead, and have never been used anywhere else. They were trying to do something that we usually handle with a separate SKU ID these days, whereas BOARD_ID is supposed to be reserved for different revisions of the same board/SKU. Get rid of it to make further refactoring of other options easier. Also shove some stuff back into the Urara mainboard that should've never crept into generic headers. 2017-03-28vboot: Assume EC_SOFTWARE_SYNC and VIRTUAL_DEV_SWITCH by defaultJulius Werner
The virtualized developer switch was invented five years ago and has been used on every vboot system ever since. We shouldn't need to specify it again and again for every new board. This patch flips the Kconfig logic around and replaces CONFIG_VIRTUAL_DEV_SWITCH with CONFIG_PHYSICAL_DEV_SWITCH, so that only a few ancient boards need to set it and it fits better with CONFIG_PHYSICAL_REC_SWITCH. (Also set the latter for Lumpy which seems to have been omitted incorrectly, and hide it from menuconfig since it's a hardware parameter that shouldn't be configurable.) Since almost all our developer switches are virtual, it doesn't make sense for every board to pass a non-existent or non-functional developer mode switch in the coreboot tables, so let's get rid of that. It's also dangerously confusing for many boards to define a get_developer_mode() function that reads an actual pin (often from a debug header) which will not be honored by coreboot because CONFIG_PHYSICAL_DEV_SWITCH isn't set. Therefore, this patch removes all those non-functional instances of that function. In the future, either the board has a physical dev switch and must define it, or it doesn't and must not. In a similar sense (and since I'm touching so many board configs anyway), it's annoying that we have to keep selecting EC_SOFTWARE_SYNC. Instead, it should just be assumed by default whenever a Chrome EC is present in the system. This way, it can also still be overridden by menuconfig. 2017-03-28vboot: Select SoC-specific configuration for all Chrome OS boardsJulius Werner
Some Chrome OS boards previously didn't have a hardcoded vboot configuration (e.g. STARTS_IN_BOOTBLOCK/_ROMSTAGE, SEPARATE_VERSTAGE, etc.) selected from their SoC and mainboard Kconfig files, and instead relied on the Chrome OS build system to pass in those options separately. Since there is usually only one "best" vboot configuration for a certain board and there is often board or SoC code specifically written with that configuration in mind (e.g. memlayout), these options should not be adjustable in menuconfig and instead always get selected by board and SoC Makefiles (as opposed to some external build system). (Removing MAINBOARD_HAS_CHROMEOS from Urara because vboot support for Pistachio/MIPS was never finished. Trying to enable even post-romstage vboot leads to weird compiler errors that I don't want to track down now. Let's stop pretending this board has working Chrome OS support because it never did.) These are generated from depthcharge's board/*/fmap.dts using the dts-to-fmd.sh script. One special case is google/veyron's chromeos.fmd, which is used for a larger set of boards - no problem since the converted fmd was the same for all of them. Set aside 128K for the bootblock on non-x86 systems (where the COREBOOT region ends up at the beginning of flash). This becomes necessary because we're working without a real cbfs master header (exists for transition only), which carved out the space for the offset. The RPU Clock register defaults to on for all clocks. This is modified to OFF, and the MIPS clock control modified to ON, by default. This is because the linux kernel will manage the clocks at all times, but the RPU can only disable clocks if the WIFI module has been loaded. board_id() returns an integer which is platform-specific. 0 for one port is different from 0 for another port. So there is no default board_id() and hence enabling it on boards other than urara would cause build failure. Not enabling it on urara or just setting id to "(none)" as is default results in board_id() = 0 which means urara and an error message on console. 2015-06-02cbfs: new API and better program loadingAaron Durbin
A new CBFS API is introduced to allow making CBFS access easier for providing multiple CBFS sources. That is achieved by decoupling the cbfs source from a CBFS file. A CBFS source is described by a descriptor. It contains the necessary properties for walking a CBFS to locate a file. The CBFS file is then decoupled from the CBFS descriptor in that it's no longer needed to access the contents of the file. All of this is accomplished using the regions infrastructure by repsenting CBFS sources and files as region_devices. Because region_devices can be chained together forming subregions this allows one to decouple a CBFS source from a file. This also allows one to provide CBFS files that came from other sources for payload and/or stage loading. The program loading takes advantage of those very properties by allowing multiple sources for locating a program. Because of this we can reduce the overhead of loading programs because it's all done in the common code paths. Only locating the program is per source. The hardware initialization is now split in basic initialization (MIPS and system PLL, system clock, SPIM, UART), and initialization of other hardware blocks (USB, I2C, ETH). The second part uses board ID information to select setup that is board specific (currently only I2C interface is selected through board ID). Concerto board does not have the means of detecting the identity of the device it is controlling. But it is very beneficial to be able to use the same firmware image on Concerto boards running different devices. The suggested solution is to keep the device identity as a string in a raw CBFS file called 'board_id'. With this patch coreboot maintains a table of possible board name strings and their matching board IDs. This change switches all mainboard vendors and mainboards to be autoincluded by Kconfig, rather than having to be mentioned explicitly. This means, vendor and mainboard directories are becoming more "drop in", e.g. be placed in the coreboot directory hierarchy without having to modify any higher level coreboot files. 2015-04-06New mechanism to define SRAM/memory map with automatic bounds checkingJulius Werner
This patch creates a new mechanism to define the static memory layout (primarily in SRAM) for a given board, superseding the brittle mass of Kconfigs that we were using before. The core part is a memlayout.ld file in the mainboard directory (although boards are expected to just include the SoC default in most cases), which is the primary linker script for all stages (though not rmodules for now). It uses preprocessor macros from <memlayout.h> to form a different valid linker script for all stages while looking like a declarative, boilerplate-free map of memory addresses to the programmer. Linker asserts will automatically guarantee that the defined regions cannot overlap. Stages are defined with a maximum size that will be enforced by the linker. The file serves to both define and document the memory layout, so that the documentation cannot go missing or out of date. The mechanism is implemented for all boards in the ARM, ARM64 and MIPS architectures, and should be extended onto all systems using SRAM in the future. The CAR/XIP environment on x86 has very different requirements and the layout is generally not as static, so it will stay like it is and be unaffected by this patch (save for aligning some symbol names for consistency and sharing the new common ramstage linker script include). Compiled Ryu, Storm and Urara, manually compared the disassemblies with ToT and looked for red flags.
