2024-01-24mb/google/sarien to zork: Rename Makefiles from .inc to .mkMartin Roth
The .inc suffix is confusing to various tools as it's not specific to Makefiles. This means that editors don't recognize the files, and don't open them with highlighting and any other specific editor functionality. This issue is also seen in the release notes generation script where Makefiles get renamed before running cloc. 2023-11-17soc/qualcomm/{sc7180,sc7280}: Allow building without QC blobs repoFelix Singer
Building coreboot for the Qualcomm SoCs SC7180 and SC7280 requires to include the Qualcomm blobs, which requires to accept their license. However, for various reasons it makes sense to build without blobs, e.g. static analysis or just build-testing. So in order to do that, run the steps integrating the Qualcomm blobs into the coreboot binary only if USE_QC_BLOBS is enabled and also remove guards which prevent building related mainboards when USE_QC_BLOBS is not enabled. 2023-07-20drivers/mipi: Modify INX_P110ZZD_DF0 panel initialization codeCong Yang
There is a problem of screen shake on the old panel[1]. So increase the panel GOP component pull-down circuit size in hardware, and update the initialization code at the same time. The new initialization code is mainly adjusted for GOP timing. When Display sleep in, raise all GOP signals to VGHO and then drop to GND. In order to be consistent with the current panel model, let's rename this file. [1]: INX old panel product number is HJ110IZ-01A-B1, and the new panel product number is HJ110IZ-01A-B2. 2021-09-29google/trogdor: Always initialize eDP bridge I2C QUP firmwareJulius Werner
In CB:52662 when MIPI display support was added, we accidentally changed the code flow for eDP displays such that i2c_init() will no longer be called when display_init_required() is false. This is a problem because on this platform, i2c_init() does not just prepare the I2C controller for firmware use, it also loads firmware to the controller that makes it behave like an I2C device in the first place -- a step that the kernel cannot later do on its own if the firmware didn't already do it. Skipping this initialization means the I2C controller becomes unusable to the kernel. This patch fixes the issue by making the i2c_init() unconditional again. 2021-09-16vboot_logic: Set VB2_CONTEXT_EC_TRUSTED in verstage_mainHsuan Ting Chen
vboot_reference is introducing a new field (ctx) to store the current boot mode in crrev/c/2944250 (ctx->bootmode), which will be leveraged in both vboot flow and elog_add_boot_reason in coreboot. In current steps of deciding bootmode, a function vb2ex_ec_trusted is required. This function checks gpio EC_IN_RW pin and will return 'trusted' only if EC is not in RW. Therefore, we need to implement similar utilities in coreboot. We will deprecate vb2ex_ec_trusted and use the flag, VB2_CONTEXT_EC_TRUSTED, in vboot, vb2api_fw_phase1 and set that flag in coreboot, verstage_main. 2021-09-02drivers/mipi: Make orientation a property of the mainboard, not panelJulius Werner
It doesn't make sense to store the orientation field directly in the panel information structure, which is supposed to be reuseable between different boards. The thing that determines orientation is how that panel is built into the board in question, which only the board itself can know. The same portrait panel could be rotated left to be used as landscape in one board and rotated right to be used as landscape in another. This patch moves the orientation field out of the panel structure back into the mainboards to reflect this. This patch changes the sc7180 boards to use the new common MIPI panel framework, which allows more flexible initialization command packing and sharing panel definitions between boards. (I'm taking the lane count control back out again for now, since it seems we only ever want 4 for now anyway, and if we ever have a need for a different lane count it's not clear whether that should be a property of the board or the panel or both. Better to leave that decision until we have a real use case.) Also, the code was not written to deal with DCS commands that were not a length divisible by 4 (it would read over the end of the command buffer). The corresponding kernel driver seems to pad the command with 0xff instead, let's do the same here. (Also increase the maximum allowed command length to 256 bytes, as per Qualcomm's recommendation.) "Latched" GPIOs like this one are a virtual representation of the pending interrupt flag for the edge-triggered pin and not a direct representation of line state, so they should always be marked ACTIVE_HIGH or depthcharge will incorrectly negate them. 2021-02-12trogdor: Add fingerprint power sequencingJulius Werner
Some Trogdor variants will include a fingerprint sensor, so this patch adds support for its power sequencing. There is a requirement that the fingerprint power needs to be *off* for at least 200ms, and when it is turned back on it needs to stabilize for at least 3.5ms before taking the FPMCU out of reset. We meet these timing requirements by splitting the sequence across bootblock, romstage and ramstage. On current Trogdor boards we measured <end of bootblock> to <end of romstage> at ~430ms and <end of romstage> to <start of ramstage> at 12ms, so we easily meet the required numbers this way. 2021-01-25trogdor: Explicitly initialize display pins in bootblockJulius Werner
This patch adds explicit initializations for the remaining named display (power) control GPIOs to the bootblock GPIO init code. These pins are usually mapped to pins that are already configured to pull-downs on power-on reset so this wasn't really required, but we have already moved them around so often that you never know when EEs might one day move them to a pin with a different power-on reset configuration, so it's better to be explicit. In one particular case, GPIO(67) (used by CoachZ rev1+ but not by anything else for the EN_PP3300_DX_EDP pin) is not actually a pull-down on boot, even though that is claimed by the datasheet. This is likely due to the fact that it can serve as the SPI_HOLD pin for the boot flash QSPI bus, so even though our board's boot flash doesn't really use that pin, it seems that the boot ROM still configures it as such. 2021-01-19trogdor: Initialize BACKLIGHT_ENABLE to 0, only turn it on in payloadJulius Werner
The BACKLIGHT_ENABLE pin on this board unfortunately defaults to a pull-up on power on, meaning the backlight is immediately enabled. Best we can do about that is to turn it off again early and wait until it is actually correct in the panel power sequence to turn it back on. Some panels want an explicit 80ms delay after training the eDP connection before the backlight is turned on (this is probably just to avoid temporary display artifacts, but whatever). We don't want to busy-wait that extra time, so instead just delegate turning on that GPIO to the payload (which is also in charge of the backlight PWM already). 2020-06-13treewide: Add Kconfig variable MEMLAYOUT_LD_FILEFurquan Shaikh
This change defines a Kconfig variable MEMLAYOUT_LD_FILE which allows SoC/mainboard to provide a linker file for the platform. x86 already provides a default memlayout.ld under src/arch/x86. With this new Kconfig variable, it is possible for the SoC/mainboard code for x86 to provide a custom linker file as well. Makefile.inc is updated for all architectures to use this new Kconfig variable instead of assuming memlayout.ld files under a certain path. All non-x86 boards used memlayout.ld under mainboard directory. However, a lot of these boards were simply including the memlayout from SoC. So, this change also updates these mainboards and SoCs to define the Kconfig as required. 2020-05-20google/trogdor: Fix ram_code and sku_id strappingsJulius Werner
I'm not quite sure what happened when we first added the code for Trogdor strappings but something clearly seems to be wrong. First of all, on newer schematics the RAM_ID_1 pin is actually pin 19, not pin 91. It only used to be 91 on rev0. Whether that was an intentional change or someone just swapped the digits on accident at some point, we're not quite sure anymore, but it seems to be 19 going forward so that is what we should be programming. (ram_code wasn't used for anything on Trogdor rev0 so we don't care about adding backwards-compatibility for that.) The sku_id pins are also somewhat out of whack: first of all, a new SKU_ID_2 pin was added for rev1 that wasn't there on rev0. Second, SKU_ID_0 is not GPIO_114. In fact, it has never been GPIO_114. I have no idea how that number got there. Anyway, fix it. (Like with the ram_code, SKU IDs were also not used for rev0 so we won't make this backwards-compatible.) 2020-04-14trogdor: Add third RAM_CODE pinJulius Werner
We decided to add a third RAM_CODE pin to the Trogdor family for devices after rev1. This patch adds support to read it. Since the newly used pin was previously unconnected (not pulled down) on rev1, this will change the RAM_CODE result for previous versions (and actually make it undetermined until we enable tri-state). But since we're not actually using RAM_CODE for anything yet, and since those are development revisions that will eventually be discontinued, this should be fine. 2020-03-18mainboard/google: Remove copyright noticesPatrick Georgi
They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest.
