2022-06-22security/vboot: Deprecate VBOOT_VBNV_ECYu-Ping Wu
Boards using VBOOT_VBNV_EC (nyan, daisy, veyron, peach_pit) are all ChromeOS devices and they've reached the end of life since Feb 2022. Therefore, remove VBOOT_VBNV_EC for them, each with different replacement. - nyan (nyan, nyan_big, nyan_blaze): Add RW_NVRAM to their FMAP (by reducing the size of RW_VPD), and replace VBOOT_VBNV_EC with VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH. - veyron: Add RW_NVRAM to their FMAP (by reducing the size of SHARED_DATA), and replace VBOOT_VBNV_EC with VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH. Also enlarge the OVERLAP_VERSTAGE_ROMSTAGE section for rk3288 (by reducing the size of PRERAM_CBMEM_CONSOLE), so that verstage won't exceed its allotted size. - daisy: Because BOOT_DEVICE_SPI_FLASH is not set, which is required for VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH, disable MAINBOARD_HAS_CHROMEOS and VBOOT configs. - peach_pit: As VBOOT is not set, simply remove the unused VBOOT_VBNV_EC option. Remove the VBOOT_VBNV_EC Kconfig option as well as related code, leaving VBOOT_VBNV_FLASH and VBOOT_VBNV_CMOS as the only two backend options for vboot nvdata (VBNV). Also add a check in read_vbnv() and save_vbnv() for VBNV options. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. This patch attempts to finish the separation between CONFIG_VBOOT and CONFIG_CHROMEOS by moving the remaining options and code (including image generation code for things like FWID and GBB flags, which are intrinsic to vboot itself) from src/vendorcode/google/chromeos to src/vboot. Also taking this opportunity to namespace all VBOOT Kconfig options, and clean up menuconfig visibility for them (i.e. some options were visible even though they were tied to the hardware while others were invisible even though it might make sense to change them). 2016-08-18Kconfig: lay groundwork for not assuming SPI flash boot deviceAaron Durbin
Almost all boards and chipsets within the codebase assume or use SPI flash as the boot device. Therefore, provide an option for the boards/chipsets which don't currently support SPI flash as the boot device. The default is to assume SPI flash is the boot device unless otherwise instructed. This falls in line with the current assumptions, but it also allows one to differentiate a platform desiring SPI flash support while it not being the actual boot device. One thing to note is that while google/daisy does boot with SPI flash part no SPI API interfaces were ever implemented. Therefore, mark that board as not having a SPI boot device. As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. 2014-09-25snow: Rename snow to daisy.Gabe Black
The name snow goes by in many places in chromeos is daisy. Snow is technically a variant of daisy and should really be called daisy_snow, but for historical reasons the daisy board with no variant was used instead. To make it easier to work with within chromeos, this change renames the snow board to daisy.
