2021-01-21cpu/intel/socket_LGA775: Increase DCACHE_RAM_SIZEElyes HAOUAS
Increase DCACHE_RAM_SIZE to 32kB and remove "NO_CBFS_MCACHE". It’s quite safe to increase DCACHE_RAM_SIZE. All LGA775 targets should have at least 256K L2 cache. That is plenty for XIP RO cache of bootblock + romstage and a 32K CAR. 2020-12-02cbfs: Enable CBFS mcache on most chipsetsJulius Werner
This patch flips the default of CONFIG_NO_CBFS_MCACHE so the feature is enabled by default. Some older chipsets with insufficient SRAM/CAR space still have it explicitly disabled. All others get the new section added to their memlayout... 8K seems like a sane default to start with. 2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. This mainboard is identical to ga-945gcm-s2l except for NIC which is a Realtek RTL 8101E chip (10/100 Mbit). The schematics of ga-945gcm-s2l mention multiple NICs and ga-945gcm-s2c and ga-945gcm-s2l have a common manual further indicating that those boards are close to identical. 2016-11-08mb/gigabyte/ga-945gcm-s2l: add mainboardArthur Heymans
Startpoint was Intel d945gclf, which has same chipset and Gigabyte ga-g41m-es2l which has same Superio. What works and is tested: * PCI slot; * PCIe x16 slot with GPU (RADEON HD 2600 XT) and ADD2 DVI card; * onboard VGA output (only textmode implemented) with native graphic init; * 533, 800, 1067MHz FSB CPU (1333MHz is unsupported by the chipset); * serial output during and after boot. What does not work: * resume from suspend (does not work for d945gclf either). Quirks: * The Realtek ethernet card requires a reset which currently also hardcodes a MAC adress. This board was only tested with the SeaBIOS payload due to flash size constraints (512KB) and with GNU/Linux.
