2021-01-18ACPI: Select ACPI_SOC_NVS only where suitableKyösti Mälkki
Having some symmetry with <soc/nvs.h> now allows to reduce the amount of gluelogic to determine the size and cbmc field of struct global_nvs. Since GNVS creation is now controlled by ACPI_SOC_NVS, drivers/amd/agesa/nvs.c becomes obsolete and soc/amd/cezanne cannot have this selected until <soc/nvs.h> exists. 2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. 2019-07-19mb/getac/p470: Null-terminate ec_id string bufferJacob Garber
The EC ID of the ECDT needs to be null-terminated (see ACPI specification, section 5.2.15), which currently isn't being done due to an off-by-one error. strncpy() is bug-prone exactly because of issues like this, so just skip it entirely and use memcpy() instead. Old igd.asl had inconsistent addresses (between _DOD and actual device) and ghost devices. Any of those is enough to make brightness on windows fail and make igd.asl out-of-ACPI-spec. Also old code favoured ridiculous copying of the same thing 6 times per chipset. Leave only hooking up and chipset-specific part in chipset directory. Move NVS handling and ACPI-spec parts to a common file. As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. the prefix was introduced in the early v2 tree many years ago because our old build system "newconfig" could not handle two files with the same name in different paths like /path/to/usb.c and /another/path/to/usb.c correctly. Only one of the files would end up being compiled into the final image. Since Kconfig (actually since shortly before we switched to Kconfig) we don't suffer from that problem anymore.
