2019-03-05mb/qemu-{i440fx,q35}: Use POSTCAR stage to load the ramstageArthur Heymans
Qemu does not have a real CAR but postcar stage is still useful for testing the stage. The postcar stage is also mandatory for x86_64 to setup pagetables for x86_64 ramstage. Do not set up MTRRs, as qemu ignores them anyways. Tested on qemu-i440fx and qemu-q35. 2019-01-14console: Change BOOTBLOCK_CONSOLE default to `y`Nico Huber
Invert the default instead of selecting it everywhere. Restores the ability to use its Kconfig prompt. Beside Qemu targets, the only platforms that didn't select it seem to be samsung/exynos5420, intel/cannonlake, and intel/icelake. The latter two were about to be patched anyway. Current implementation works by luck as DCACHE area is actually RAM and stack can grow and use that RAM outside of the area. * Set DCACHE_BSP_STACK_SIZE to 0x4000. * Add an assert to make sure it is set to a sane value on all platforms. 2018-09-13src/*/intel/: clarify Kconfig options regarding IFDStefan Tauner
HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid. Refine the help text to make this clear. Introduce a new option INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE that does simply declare that IFD is supported by the platform. Select this value everywhere instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected. Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to the mainboard directory. It’s unclear why this option was commented out. Activate the line, and copy the CMOS layout and defaults from qemu-i440fx. TEST=Boot 2.11.1(Debian 1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu7) and see that nvramcui works. A changed value doesn’t survive a reboot though. 2013-11-25bochs: add support for native graphicsRonald G. Minnich
Per our discussions with Gerd, qemu will now always do native graphics on coreboot. The VGA BIOS capability is not needed and will no longer be supported. Attempts to build without native graphics will result in an error. This code builds for both x86 emulation targets. I'm hitting an issue testing that is unrelated to coreboot; if someone can test, that would be helpful. Be sure to start qemu with -vga std. If romstage does not make the cbmem_initialize() call, features like COLLECT_TIMESTAMPS and early CBMEM_CONSOLE will execute during romstage, but that data will get lost as no CAR migration is executed.
