2020-06-19Kconfig: Escape variable to accommodate new Kconfig versionsPatrick Georgi
Kconfig 4.17 started using the $(..) syntax for environment variable expansion while we want to keep expansion to the build system. Older Kconfig versions (like ours) simply drop the escapes, not changing the behavior. While we could let Kconfig expand some of the variables, that only splits the handling in two places, making debugging harder and potentially messing with reproducible builds (e.g. when paths end up in configs), so escape them all. 2020-03-31mb/emulation/qemu-q35: Enable CHROMEOS as an optionDuncan Laurie
Allow Chrome OS to be enabled for this QEMU target. By default this does not change anything unless it is selected in the build configuration, but it makes it possible. Native VGA init is not forced when Chrome OS is enabled because the drm-bochs driver does not work with chrome (even the latest upstream kernel driver with drm atomic support) but it does work with virtio. The coreboot graphics init needs to match what is selected with qemu (with -vga std or -vga virtio) which in turn will determine which kernel driver is used. A second FMAP is added with both RW-A and RW-B regions which is required by chromeos. This enables the mainboard to use a TPM if it is selected in the configuration. By default this does nothing, but it allows the TPM to be enabled and used with the CONFIG_USER_TPM2 Kconfig option. When the TPM is enabled in QEMU the fw_cfg interface will return ~200KiB of ACPI tables, so this needs to be increased from the default in order to be able to boot. Qemu does not have a real CAR but postcar stage is still useful for testing the stage. The postcar stage is also mandatory for x86_64 to setup pagetables for x86_64 ramstage. Do not set up MTRRs, as qemu ignores them anyways. Tested on qemu-i440fx and qemu-q35. Invert the default instead of selecting it everywhere. Restores the ability to use its Kconfig prompt. Beside Qemu targets, the only platforms that didn't select it seem to be samsung/exynos5420, intel/cannonlake, and intel/icelake. The latter two were about to be patched anyway. HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid. Refine the help text to make this clear. Introduce a new option INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE that does simply declare that IFD is supported by the platform. Select this value everywhere instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected. Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to the mainboard directory. 2013-11-25bochs: add support for native graphicsRonald G. Minnich
Per our discussions with Gerd, qemu will now always do native graphics on coreboot. The VGA BIOS capability is not needed and will no longer be supported. Attempts to build without native graphics will result in an error. This code builds for both x86 emulation targets. I'm hitting an issue testing that is unrelated to coreboot; if someone can test, that would be helpful. Be sure to start qemu with -vga std. Assume EARLY_CBMEM_INIT=y everywhere and remove option from Kconfig. If romstage does not make the cbmem_initialize() call, features like COLLECT_TIMESTAMPS and early CBMEM_CONSOLE will execute during romstage, but that data will get lost as no CAR migration is executed. Change all PCI configuration accesses to MMIO in qemu-q35 emulation To enable MMIO style access, add (move) explicit PCI IO config write in the bootblock. As there is no northbridge/x/x/bootblock.c file, a mainboard/x/x/bootblock.c file is added for this purpose.
