2019-07-04arch/x86: Adjust size of postcar stackKyösti Mälkki
With VBOOT=y && VBOOT_MEASURED_BOOT=y message digest will be allocated from the stack and 1 KiB reserve used with the recent platforms was no longer sufficient. The comment of LZMA scratchpad consuming stack was obsolete for postcar, so these can be reduced to same 4 KiB. 2019-03-16x86/smbios: Untangle system and board tablesNico Huber
We were used to set the same values in the system and board tables. We'll keep the mainboard values as defaults for the system tables, so nothing changes unless somebody overrides the system table hooks. 2019-03-05mb/qemu-{i440fx,q35}: Use POSTCAR stage to load the ramstageArthur Heymans
Qemu does not have a real CAR but postcar stage is still useful for testing the stage. The postcar stage is also mandatory for x86_64 to setup pagetables for x86_64 ramstage. Do not set up MTRRs, as qemu ignores them anyways. Tested on qemu-i440fx and qemu-q35. The change bcd84fe "mb/emulation/qemu-i440fx: change file handling" introduced a regression where it loads only 4 bytes of the ACPI and SMBIOS table, instead of the whole table. Load the whole ACPI and SMBIOS table. Tested on Qemu using GNU/Linux. Reduce the number of fw_find_file calls by returning the file structure at fw_cfg_check_file. The file structure can then be used to allocate memory and access the file content directly without recurrence searching. Remove now unnecessary function fw_cfg_load_file. Fixed breaking function calls and add include guard at fw_cfg_if.h. 2019-01-14console: Change BOOTBLOCK_CONSOLE default to `y`Nico Huber
Invert the default instead of selecting it everywhere. Restores the ability to use its Kconfig prompt. Beside Qemu targets, the only platforms that didn't select it seem to be samsung/exynos5420, intel/cannonlake, and intel/icelake. The latter two were about to be patched anyway. 2018-10-08Move compiler.h to commonlibNico Huber
Its spreading copies got out of sync. And as it is not a standard header but used in commonlib code, it belongs into commonlib. While we are at it, always include it via GCC's `-include` switch. Some Windows and BSD quirk handling went into the util copies. We always guard from redefinitions now to prevent further issues. Since commit 3bfd7cc (drivers/pc80: Rework normal / fallback selector code) the reboot counter stored in `reboot_bits` isn't reset on a reboot with `boot_option = 1` any more. Hence, with SKIP_MAX_REBOOT_CNT_CLEAR enabled, later stages (e.g. payload, OS) have to clear the counter too, when they want to switch to normal boot. So change the bits to (h)ex instead of (r)eserved. To clarify their meaning, rename `reboot_bits` to `reboot_counter`. Also remove all occurences of the obsolete `last_boot` bit that have sneaked in again since 24391321 (mainboard: Remove last_boot NVRAM option). RAM doesn't need any initialization on qemu, so we can simply use it right away. No need to try using the cache as ram in the first place. We also can place the stack in normal ram right from start and we don't have to switch it to another place later on. Place the stack in real mode memory which isn't used for something else. On certain Winbond SuperIO devices, when a PS/2 mouse is not present on the auxiliary channel both channels will cease to function if the auxiliary channel is probed while the primary channel is active. Therefore, knowledge of mouse presence must be gathered by coreboot during early boot, and used to enable or disable the auxiliary PS/2 port before control is passed to the operating system. Add auxiliary channel PS/2 device presence detect, and update the Winbond W83667HG-A driver to flag the auxiliary channel as disabled if no device was detected. The actual use of the parameter max is to keep track of PCI bus number while recursively scanning PCI bridges or PCI-e rootports. Neither CPU, SMBus, LPC or other static buses are involved in this enumeration, but the way bridge operations were originally designed forced to pass this argument thru unrelated functions. Follow-up removes these once the function prototype gets fixed. Fix system include paths to be consistent. Chipset support is part of the Coreboot 'system' and hence 'non-local' (i.e., in the same directory or context). One possible product of this, is to perhaps allow future work to do pre-compiled headers (PCH) on the buildbot for faster build times. However, this currently just makes mainboard's consistent. There were instances of unneeded arch/hlt.h includes, various hlt() calls that weren't supposed to exit (but might have) and various forms of endless loops around hlt() calls. All these are sorted out now: unnecessary includes are dropped, hlt() is uniformly replaced with halt() (except in assembly, obviously). When passing '-ffreestanding' the 'main' romstage.c may no longer necessarily be considered the entry point. From the C specification in 5.1.2.1 Freestanding environment; "In a freestanding environment (in which C program execution may take place without any benefit of an operating system), the name and type of the function called at program startup are implementation-defined." Clang complains about these being missing as Clang is somewhat more strict about the spec than GNU/GCC is. An advantage here is that a different entry-point type-signature shall now be warned about at compile time.
