2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. We were used to set the same values in the system and board tables. We'll keep the mainboard values as defaults for the system tables, so nothing changes unless somebody overrides the system table hooks. The change bcd84fe "mb/emulation/qemu-i440fx: change file handling" introduced a regression where it loads only 4 bytes of the ACPI and SMBIOS table, instead of the whole table. Load the whole ACPI and SMBIOS table. Tested on Qemu using GNU/Linux. Reduce the number of fw_find_file calls by returning the file structure at fw_cfg_check_file. The file structure can then be used to allocate memory and access the file content directly without recurrence searching. Remove now unnecessary function fw_cfg_load_file. Fixed breaking function calls and add include guard at fw_cfg_if.h. Its spreading copies got out of sync. And as it is not a standard header but used in commonlib code, it belongs into commonlib. While we are at it, always include it via GCC's `-include` switch. Some Windows and BSD quirk handling went into the util copies. We always guard from redefinitions now to prevent further issues. Qemu makes the guest uuid (qemu -uuid $uuid) available to the guest via fw_cfg. Other smbios fields can be configured in qemu using the -smbios command line switch (check the qemu manpage for details). This patch adds coreboot support for this, so the values provided by qemu will actually show up in the smbios table. 2013-11-15qemu: load acpi tables from fw_cfg.Gerd Hoffmann
Starting with release 1.7 qemu provides acpi tables via fw_cfg. Main advantage is that new (virtual) hardware which needs acpi support JustWorks[tm] without having to patch & update the firmware (seabios, coreboot, ...) accordingly. So if we find acpi tables in fw_cfg try loading them, otherwise fallback to the builtin acpi tables.
