2021-03-19nb/intel/haswell: Consolidate memory-down SPD handlingAngel Pons
Mainboards do not need to know about `pei_data` to tell northbridge code where to find the SPD data. Adjust `mb_get_spd_map` to take a pointer to a struct instead of an array, and update all the mainboards accordingly. Currently, the only board with memory-down in the tree is google/slippy. Mainboard code now obtains the SPD index in `mb_get_spd_map` and adjusts the channel population accordingly. Then, northbridge code reads the SPD file and uses the index that was read in `mb_get_spd_map`, and copies it to channel 0 slot 0 unconditionally. MRC only uses the first position of the `spd_data` array, and ignores the other positions. In coreboot code, `setup_sdram_meminfo` uses the data of each SPD index, so `copy_spd` has to account for this. Tested on Asrock B85M Pro4, still boots and still resumes from S3. 2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. This is change 3/5 which basically is generated by running the following command: $ git grep -iIl "arch/acpi" | xargs sed -i 's/arch\/acpi/acpi\/acpi/g' BUG=b:155428745 Change-Id: I16b1c45d954d6440fb9db1d3710063a47b582eae Signed-off-by: Furquan Shaikh <furquan@google.com> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/40938 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: HAOUAS Elyes <ehaouas@noos.fr>
2020-04-22nb/intel/haswell: Deprecate WDB params in pei_dataAngel Pons
The WDB (Write Data Buffer) is a data region in CAR, used as a scratchpad in the read and write training algorithms of memory initialization. Both SNB and IVB use this buffer, but HSW does not. Unlike earlier chipsets, Haswell contains much more in-hardware memory training machinery, known as REUT (Robust Electrical Unified Testing). Among other changes, the REUT hardware has a pattern storage buffer, which renders the need for a pattern storage buffer in CAR obsolete. Deprecate the WDB-related parameters in the pei_data structure for Haswell, as they are leftovers from the previous generation's MRC. Remove them from the mainboards, and explain why they are not required. Because the MRC ABI has to remain the same, the layout of pei_data must not be changed, so rename the WDB parameters instead of deleting them. Tested on Asrock B85M Pro4, still boots with the MRC from Google Wolf. 2020-03-18mainboard/[a-f]*: Remove copyright noticesPatrick Georgi
They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. 2019-01-06Kconfig: Unify power-after-failure optionsNico Huber
The newest and most useful incarnation was hiding in soc/intel/common/. We move it into the Mainboard menu and extend it with various flags to be selected to control the default and which options are visible. Also add a new `int` config MAINBOARD_POWER_FAILURE_STATE that moves the boolean to int conversion into Kconfig: 0 - S5 1 - S0 2 - previous state This patch focuses on the Kconfig code. The C code could be unified as well, e.g. starting with a common enum and safe wrapper around the get_option() call. TEST=Did what-jenkins-does with and without this commit and compared binaries. Nothing changed for the default configurations. 2018-12-28sb/intel/lynxpoint: Handle H81 only having 6 PCIe root portsTristan Corrick
The H81 chipset is the only non-LP Lynx Point chipset with 6 PCIe root ports, all others have 8 [1]. The existing PCIe code assumed that all non-LP chipsets had 8 root ports, which meant that port 6 would not be considered the last root port on H81, so `root_port_commit_config()` would not run. Ultimately, while PCIe still worked on H81, all the root ports would remain enabled, even if disabled in the devicetree. Also, remove `PCI_DEVICE_ID_INTEL_LYNXPOINT_MOB_DESK_{MIN,MAX}`, as they are unused, and the MAX constant is incorrect. Interestingly, this fixes an issue where GRUB is unable to halt the system. Tested on an ASRock H81M-HDS. The root ports disabled in the devicetree do indeed end up disabled. When I added the cmos.layout file, I did not realise that the southbridge code cleverly emulated the "keep state" option. Tested on an ASRock H81M-HDS. The `Keep` option works as it should.
