2017-11-07ec/acpi: add mechanisms to clear EC output queueBill XIE
EC's output could be considered as a queue, and sometimes (observed on Thinkpad T400s during cold boot) a few (only one observed) garbage bytes may detained in such queue after power up. Those garbage bytes should be checked and discarded first before real interactions, otherwise they may disrupt the interaction during EC's enablement, causing a locked rfkill. 2015-10-31tree: drop last paragraph of GPL copyright headerPatrick Georgi
It encourages users from writing to the FSF without giving an address. Linux also prefers to drop that and their checkpatch.pl (that we imported) looks out for that. This is the result of util/scripts/no-fsf-addresses.sh with no further editing. 2015-05-21Remove address from GPLv2 headersPatrick Georgi
As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons but because there are tools that look for them, and giving them a standard pattern simplifies things. However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a new lease, but can drop the address instead. util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that we may want to synchronize every now and then. $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin St, Fifth Floor, Boston, *MA[, ]*02110-1301[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin Street, Suite 500, Boston, MA 02110-1335, USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 59 Temple Place[-, ]*Suite 330, Boston, MA *02111-1307[, ]*USA:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -exec sed -i "s:Foundation, Inc., 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA.:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + $ find * -type f -a \! -name \*.patch \ -a \! -name \*_shipped \ -a \! -name LICENSE_GPL \ -a \! -name LGPL.txt \ -a \! -name COPYING \ -a \! -name DISCLAIMER \ -exec sed -i "/Foundation, Inc./ N;s:Foundation, Inc.* USA\.* *:Foundation, Inc. :;s:Foundation, Inc. $:Foundation, Inc.:" {} + Change-Id: Icc968a5a5f3a5df8d32b940f9cdb35350654bef9 Signed-off-by: Patrick Georgi <pgeorgi@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: http://review.coreboot.org/9233 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) Reviewed-by: Vladimir Serbinenko <phcoder@gmail.com>
2015-04-29kbuild: automatically include ECsStefan Reinauer
This change switches all ECs and the generic EC ACPI code to be autoincluded by Makefile.inc, rather than having to be mentioned explicitly in ec/Makefile.inc or in ec/<vendor>/Makefile.inc. This means, vendor and ec directories are now "drop in", e.g. be placed in the coreboot directory hierarchy without having to modify any higher level coreboot files. The long term plan is to enable out of tree components to be built with a given coreboot version (given that the API did not change). 2014-06-25src/ec: Sanitize headers and comment #endif pairingsEdward O'Callaghan
Comment #endif /* FOO */ pairings. Alphabetise headers and remove any #if CONFIG_ guards around them. Background rational: Remove guarding the inclusion of headers based on CONFIG_ options. This *potentially* could hide issues such as functions being swapped from under our feet, since different runtime behaviour could be declared with the same function same name and type-signature. Hence, depending on the header we happen to get may change runtime behaviour. 2013-06-06ec/acpi: Add ACPI methods for generic EC accessNico Huber
Port most of the functions found in ec/acpi/ec.c to ACPI Source Language (ASL). These functions are used to control embedded controllers with the standard ACPI interface (mostly through i/o ports 0x62 / 0x66). The following methods are implemented and tested against the power managements channels of a ITE IT8516E embedded controller: * WAIT_EC_SC Wait for a bit in the EC_SC register * SEND_EC_COMMAND Send one command byte to the EC_SC register * SEND_EC_DATA Send one data byte to the EC_DATA register * RECV_EC_DATA Read one byte of data from the EC_DATA register * EC_READ Read one byte from ec memory (through cmd 0x80) * EC_WRITE Write one byte to ec memory (through cmd 0x81) To use the provided methods, one should include `ec/acpi/ec.asl` in the EC device code. Prior doing so, two macros should be defined to identify the used i/o ports: * EC_SC_IO I/o address of the EC_SC register * EC_DATA_IO I/o address of the EC_DATA register Change-Id: I8c6706075fb4980329c228e5b830d5f4e9b188dd Signed-off-by: Nico Huber <nico.huber@secunet.com> Reviewed-on: http://review.coreboot.org/3285 Reviewed-by: Stefan Reinauer <stefan.reinauer@coreboot.org> Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins)
2013-03-22x86: Unify arch/io.h and arch/romcc_io.hStefan Reinauer
Here's the great news: From now on you don't have to worry about hitting the right io.h include anymore. Just forget about romcc_io.h and use io.h instead. This cleanup has a number of advantages, like you don't have to guard device/ includes for SMM and pre RAM anymore. This allows to get rid of a number of ifdefs and will generally make the code more readable and understandable. Potentially in the future some of the code in the io.h __PRE_RAM__ path should move to device.h or other device/ includes instead, but that's another incremental change.
