The 'Bluetooth Increased Power Mode - SAR Limitation' feature provides ability to utilize increased device Transmit power capability for Bluetooth applications in coordination with Wi-Fi adhering to product SAR limit when Bluetooth and Wi-Fi run together. This commit introduces a `bluetooth_companion' field to the generic Wi-Fi drivers chip data. This field can be set in the board design device tree to supply the bluetooth device for which the BRDS function must be created. This feature is required for Meteor Lake rex karis variant. 2024-02-06drivers/wifi: Add MTCL function to ACPI SSDTDavid Ruth
The MTCL function provides a country list to the Linux kernel via an ACPI function in SSDT for MediaTek WiFi chipsets that are capable of operating on the 6GHz band. The country list is used to selectively disable 6GHz and 5.9GHz operation based on the country the device is operating in. The function needs to read a binary file and send it as a package via the MTCL method in SSDT for PCIe WiFi with MediaTek chipsets. `is_untrusted` is eventually ended up by adding DMA property _DSD which is similar to what `add_acpi_dma_property` does for WWAN drivers, hence it makes sense to have a unified name across different device drivers. 2022-07-27drivers/wifi/generic: Revert changes to generate missing SSDT for PCIeReka Norman
wifi This reverts commit 5e6fd360de7fe92f1e8b1b3eb20241809e2a6aff. On nereid, the SSDT entry for the PCIe wifi device is missing, causing wake-on-WLAN not to work since the _PRW is missing. It seems like when commit 5e6fd360de changed the SSDT generation logic for CNVi and PCIe wifi, it broke the PCIe case. `wifi_pcie_ops` are never assigned to any device, so `parent && parent->ops == &wifi_pcie_ops` always returns false, and the `wifi_cnvi_ops` are used even for PCIe devices. Undo the changes in that CL. This allows both the CNVi and PCIe cases to work. That CL was meant to fix an issue with the CNVi _PRW containing garbage, but I can't reproduce this when the change is undone. In the devicetree case where a generic device underneath the Intel PCI CNVi device carries the device properties, the incorrect device was passed to wifi_ssdt_write_properties. In order to align with established standards for establishing DMA boundaries[1] from ACPI, the UntrustedDevice property has been renamed to DmaProperty, which follows Microsoft's implementation. Now that the console system itself will clearly differentiate loglevels, it is no longer necessary to explicitly add "ERROR: " in front of every BIOS_ERR message to help it stand out more (and allow automated tooling to grep for it). Removing all these extra .rodata characters should save us a nice little amount of binary size. This patch was created by running find src/ -type f -exec perl -0777 -pi -e 's/printk\(\s*BIOS_ERR,\s*"ERROR: /printk\(BIOS_ERR, "/gi' '{}' ';' and doing some cursory review/cleanup on the result. Existing SAR infrastructure supports only revision 0 of the SAR tables. This patch modifies it to extend support for intel wifi 6 and wifi 6e configurations as per the connectivity document: 559910_Intel_Connectivity_Platforms_BIOS_Guidelines_Rev6_4.pdf The SAR table and WGDS configuration block sizes were static in the legacy SAR file format. 2020-11-10drivers/wifi: Check device is of type PCI before checking vendor IDFurquan Shaikh
CB:46865 ("mb, soc/intel: Reorganize CNVi device entries in devicetree") reorganized the devicetree entries to make the representation of CNVi device consistent with other internal PCI devices. Since a dummy generic device is added for the CNVi device, `emit_sar_acpi_structures()` needs to first check if the device is PCI before checking the vendor ID. This ensures that SAR table generation is skipped only for PCIe devices with non-Intel vendor IDs and not for the dummy generic device. This change reorganizes drivers/wifi/generic to add a new device_operations structure for dummy CNVi device. This is done to make the organization of CNVi PCI device in devicetree consistent with all the other internal PCI devices of the SoC i.e. without a chip around the PCI device. 2020-11-02drivers/wifi/generic: Split wifi_generic_fill_ssdt into two functionsFurquan Shaikh
This change splits `wifi_generic_fill_ssdt()` into following two functions: 1. `wifi_ssdt_write_device()`: This function writes the device, its address, _UID and _DDN. 2. `wifi_ssdt_write_properties()`: This function writes the properties for WiFi device like _PRW, regulatory domain and SAR. This split is done so that the device write can be skipped for CNVi devices in follow-up CLs. It will allow the SoC controller representation for CNVi PCI device to be consistent with other internal PCI devices in the device tree i.e. not requiring a chip driver for the PCI device. Because of this change, _PRW and SAR will be seen in a separate block in SSDT disassembly, but it does not result in any functional change.
