2024-09-02drivers/usb/acpi: Add DSM for Intel BluetoothSean Rhodes
Add support for creating a DSM Method for Intel Bluetooth that is outlined in Intel's connectivity integrated guide (which has no document number). 2024-01-31include/device/device.h: Remove CHIP_NAME() macroNicholas Sudsgaard
Macros can be confusing on their own; hiding commas make things worse. This can sometimes be downright misleading. A "good" example would be the code in soc/intel/xeon_sp/spr/chip.c: CHIP_NAME("Intel SapphireRapids-SP").enable_dev = chip_enable_dev, This appears as CHIP_NAME() being some struct when in fact these are defining 2 separate members of the same struct. It was decided to remove this macro altogether, as it does not do anything special and incurs a maintenance burden. 2024-01-24driver/parade to /driver/wwan: Rename Makefiles from .inc to .mkMartin Roth
The .inc suffix is confusing to various tools as it's not specific to Makefiles. This means that editors don't recognize the files, and don't open them with highlighting and any other specific editor functionality. This issue is also seen in the release notes generation script where Makefiles get renamed before running cloc. 2023-11-09Allow to build romstage sources inside the bootblockArthur Heymans
Having a separate romstage is only desirable: - with advanced setups like vboot or normal/fallback - boot medium is slow at startup (some ARM SOCs) - bootblock is limited in size (Intel APL 32K) When this is not the case there is no need for the extra complexity that romstage brings. Including the romstage sources inside the bootblock substantially reduces the total code footprint. Often the resulting code is 10-20k smaller. This is controlled via a Kconfig option. TESTED: works on qemu x86, arm and aarch64 with and without VBOOT. 2023-08-06drivers: Add SPDX license headers to MakefilesMartin Roth
To help identify the licenses of the various files contained in the coreboot source, we've added SPDX headers to the top of all of the .c and .h files. This extends that practice to Makefiles. Any file in the coreboot project without a specific license is bound to the license of the overall coreboot project, GPL Version 2. This patch adds the GPL V2 license identifier to the top of all makefiles in the drivers directory that don't already have an SPDX license line at the top. 2023-06-09soc/amd: add ops xhci_pci_ops to XHCI controllers in devicetreeFelix Held
Instead of adding the new PCI IDs of the XHCI controllers in every new chip generation to the pci_xhci driver, bind the driver to the internal PCI devices of the XHCI controllers via the device ops statement in the chipset devicetree. The PCI device function of the XHCI2 controller in Mendocino can be either a dummy device or the XHCI controller, so the device ops are attached to that device in the mainboard devicetree instead. The Glinda code is right now just a copy of the Mendocino code, so it'll change in the future, but for consistency the equivalent changes to those in Mendocino are applied there too. Since the device ops are now attached to the devices via the static devicetree entry, also remove both the xhci_pci_driver struct and the amd_pci_device_ids array from drivers/usb/pci_xhci/pci_xhci.c. TEST=SSDT entries for the XHCI controllers are still generated on Mandolin. 2020-07-02acpi_device: Replace polarity with active_low in acpi_gpio for GpioIoFurquan Shaikh
As per ACPI spec, GpioIo does not have any polarity associated with it. Linux kernel uses `active_low` argument within GPIO _DSD property to allow BIOS to indicate if the corresponding GPIO should be treated as active low. Thus, if GPIO has active high polarity or if it does not have any polarity associated with it, then the `active_low` argument is supposed to be set to 0. Having a `polarity` field in acpi_gpio seems confusing because GPIOs might not always have polarity associated with them. Example, in case of DMIC-select GPIO where 0 means select DMIC0 and 1 means select DMIC1, there is no polarity associated with the GPIO. Thus, it would be clearer for mainboard to use macros without having to specify a particular polarity. In order to enable mainboards to provide GPIO information without polarity for GpioIo usage, this change also adds `ACPI_GPIO_OUTPUT` and `ACPI_GPIO_INPUT` macros. 2020-04-23rules.h: Rename ENV_VERSTAGE to ENV_SEPARATE_VERSTAGEJulius Werner
When CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE=n, all verstage code gets linked into the appropriate calling stage (bootblock or romstage). This means that ENV_VERSTAGE is actually 0, and instead ENV_BOOTBLOCK or ENV_ROMSTAGE are 1. This keeps tripping up people who are just trying to write a simple "are we in verstage (i.e. wherever the vboot init logic runs)" check, e.g. for TPM init functions which may run in "verstage" or ramstage depending on whether vboot is enabled. Those checks will not work as intended for CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE=n. This patch renames ENV_VERSTAGE to ENV_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE to try to clarify that this macro can really only be used to check whether code is running in a *separate* verstage, and clue people in that they may need to cover the linked-in verstage case as well. The Linux kernel can use the ACPI _PLD group information to determine peer ports. Currently to define the group information the devicetree must provide a complete _PLD structure. This change pulls the group information into a separate structure that can be defined in devicetree. This makes it easier to set for USB devices in devicetree that do not need a full custom PLD. This was tested on a sarien board with the USB devices defined by verifying that the USB 2/3 ports are correctly identified with their peer in sysfs. 2017-09-14usbdebug: Fix init and add support for postcarKyösti Mälkki
It was originally designed such that if usbdebug_init() was called before cbmem_initialize(), it would fetch the already-initialized state from CBMEM. This changed when cbmem_find() behaviour changed to require cbmem_initialize() to be called first. As a result, ramstage had to reinitialize all of the EHCI controller and USB endpoints on entry. This was slow, specially with AMD hardware where one can scan USB ports to probe for the debug dongle. For postcar and ramstage, move usbdebug entry such that it is triggered from CBMEM_INIT_HOOK instead of console_init(). Side-effect of this is usbdebug console shows 'coreboot-xxx ... starting...' line only for romstage. Initialisation for usbdebug is never done in postcar. If you have USBDEBUG_IN_ROMSTAGE=n, postcar will not have console output on usb either. While at it, fix also some other __PRE_RAM__ cases to ENV_ROMSTAGE and alike.
