<stdio.h> header is used for input/output operations (such as printf,
scanf, fopen, etc.). Although some input/output functions can manipulate
strings, they do not need to directly include <string.h> because they
are declared independently.

Explicitly specifying the aspect `Side_Effects' is necessary for GCC
toolchains from 14.0 on. As older toolchains don't know the aspect,
we have to silence a warning about it, though.

Commit d25277666829 ("tree: Replace And(a,b) with ASL 2.0 syntax")
replaced two instances of `And(var, mask) == 0` with `var & mask == 0`.
This expression needs parentheses - `(var & mask) == 0`.
Without parentheses, it is always false, since the masks are nonzero
(`var & (mask == 0)`; `var & 0`; `0`).
This caused brightness changes on Intel GMA to take longer than
normal since the status was never checked. The brightness would
change immediately, but another brightness change could not occur until
the first change timed out.
This was most noticeable in KDE, which waits for the brightness change
to complete before accepting another brightness up/down keypress.
Tapping brightness up/down repeatedly would take much longer to reach
max/min brightness due to many presses being ignored.
It is noticeable in GNOME as well but less obvious. Tapping brightness
up/down repeatedly would handle all keypresses, but the display's
actual brightness would lag behind and skip some intermediate steps.
I tested both Librem 13v2 and Librem 14, as far as I know this would
apply to all systems configuring brightness with Intel GMA.
Test: Verify brightness keys respond quickly again on Librem 13v2 / 14.

The .inc suffix is confusing to various tools as it's not specific to
Makefiles. This means that editors don't recognize the files, and don't
open them with highlighting and any other specific editor functionality.
This issue is also seen in the release notes generation script where
Makefiles get renamed before running cloc.

This commit updates the port select bit definitions for the
TRANS_DDI_FUNC_CTL registers in the Intel GMA driver to accommodate
the changes introduced since TGL SoC.
Specifically, the following changes were made:
- Updated the DDI select bit definitions from 3-bits (bit 28-30) to
4-bits (bit 27-30).
- Introduces `INTEL_GMA_VERSION_2` config to accommodate the port and
pipe related differences between previous generation GMA register
(TRANS_DDI_FUNC_CTL) to the current generation GMA register.
This commit backports the change from the following upstream patch:

The Alder Lake PEIM graphics driver executed as part of the FSP does
not wait for the panel power cycle to complete before it initializes
communication with the display. It can result in AUX channel
communication time out and PEIM graphics driver failing to bring up
graphics.
If we have performed some graphics operation in romstage, it is
possible that a panel power cycle is still in progress. To prevent any
issue with the PEIM graphics driver it is preferable to ensure that
panel power cycle is complete.
This patch replaces commit ba2cef5b5493
("soc/intel/common/block/early_graphics: Introduce a 200 ms delay")
workaround patch.

We were using the libgfxinit `Initialize' function with the
`Clean_State' parameter because the more appropriate `Update_Output'
function was not performing all the necessary clean up operations for
the PEIM driver to be successful when libgfxinit was used in romstage.
Thanks to a lot of experiments and some log analysis efforts, we were
able to identify the missing operation and fix the `Update_Output'
function (cf. https://review.coreboot.org/c/libgfxinit/+/72123).
The `initialized' global variable is now unnecessary as we track the
initialization in the Ada code instead.
Since the `Update_Output' function does not return any value, this
patch modifies the `gma_gfxstop' prototype accordingly. This does not
have any impact as the return value was not used anyway.

`libgfxinit' and provide VGA text mode support.
SoCs wanting to take advantage of this driver must implement the
`early_graphics_soc_panel_init' function to set the panel power
sequence timing parameters.

Currently the flow for opregion init is as below:
1. Allocate memory for opregion first (cbmem_add(opregion))
2. Check if VBT size > 6 KiB (this requires extended VBT support)
3. In case of extended VBT requirement, we allocate another chunk
of memory which is equal to size of VBT (cbmem_add(extended_vbt))
4. Pass physical address pointer to OS via RVDA
We can optimize the above flow to allocate single chunk of memory by
checking VBT size in earlier step. The new optimized flow for opregion
init is as below:
1. Check if VBT size > 6 KiB (this requires extended VBT support)
2. In case of extended VBT requirement, total memory to be allocated
is calculated as sizeof(opregion) + sizeof (extended_vbt)
In case where VBT size is < 6 KiB, total memory requirement would
be equal to sizeof(opregion)
3. Based on above calculation, allocate single chunk of memory based on
total size.
This will also be helpful for the case of virtualization where guest
users don't have access to physical address and when it needs relative
address of VBT compared to absolute address.
In case of opregion 2.1 spec, we need to pass relative address of
VBT from opregion base in RVDA. This optimization will help in meeting
this requirement since relative address of extended VBT is easy to get.
This change will ensure that it meets opregion specification
requirement and will be compatible with future versions as well.

Restructuring opregion VBT related code to make it more generalize
for future revision of opregion spec.
Moved logic to locate VBT from different region (CBMEM, PCI option
ROM or VBIOS) into separate function.
Created a new function to check if extended VBT region is required.
This will be helpful in the subsequent changes to determine if
extended VBT region is needed and handle memory allocation
accordingly.

We had the addrspace_32bit rdev in prog_loaders.c for a while to help
represent memory ranges as an rdev, and we've found it useful for a
couple of things that have nothing to do with program loading. This
patch moves the concept straight into commonlib/region.c so it is no
longer anchored in such a weird place, and easier to use in unit tests.
Also expand the concept to the whole address space (there's no real need
to restrict it to 32 bits in 64-bit environments) and introduce an
rdev_chain_mem() helper function to make it a bit easier to use. Replace
some direct uses of struct mem_region_device with this new API where it
seems to make sense.

panel settings present in coreboot. Replace the ones for the platforms
that already have (mostly) unified gma/graphics setup code by a unified
struct in the gma driver. Hook it up in HSW, BDW, SKL, and APL and adapt
the devicetrees accordingly.
Always ensure that values don't overflow by applying appropriate masks.
The remaining platforms implementing panel settings (GM45, i945, ILK and
SNB) can be migrated later after unifying their gma/graphics setup code.

Currently it's not possible to add multiple graphics drivers into
one coreboot image. This patch series will fix this issue by providing
a single API that multiple graphics drivers can use.
This is required for platforms that have two graphic cards, but
different graphic drivers, like Intel+Aspeed on server platforms or
Intel+Nvidia on consumer notebooks.
The goal is to remove duplicated fill_fb_framebuffer(), the advertisment
of multiple independent framebuffers in coreboot tables, and better
runtime/build time graphic configuration options.
Replace all duplications of fill_fb_framebuffer and provide a single one
in edid_fill_fb.c. Should not change the current behaviour as still only
one graphic driver can be active at time.

This patch renames cbfs_boot_map_with_leak() and cbfs_boot_load_file()
to cbfs_map() and cbfs_load() respectively. This is supposed to be the
start of a new, better organized CBFS API where the most common
operations have the most simple and straight-forward names. Less
commonly used variants of these operations (e.g. cbfs_ro_load() or
cbfs_region_load()) can be introduced later. It seems unnecessary to
keep carrying around "boot" in the names of most CBFS APIs if the vast
majority of accesses go to the boot CBFS (instead, more unusual
operations should have longer names that describe how they diverge from
the common ones).
cbfs_map() is paired with a new cbfs_unmap() to allow callers to cleanly
reap mappings when desired. A few new cbfs_unmap() calls are added to
generic code where it makes sense, but it seems unnecessary to introduce
this everywhere in platform or architecture specific code where the boot
medium is known to be memory-mapped anyway. In fact, even for
non-memory-mapped platforms, sometimes leaking a mapping to the CBFS
cache is a much cleaner solution than jumping through hoops to provide
some other storage for some long-lived file object, and it shouldn't be
outright forbidden when it makes sense.
Additionally, remove the type arguments from these function signatures.
The goal is to eventually remove type arguments for lookup from the
whole CBFS API. Filenames already uniquely identify CBFS files. The type
field is just informational, and there should be APIs to allow callers
to check it when desired, but it's not clear what we gain from forcing
this as a parameter into every single CBFS access when the vast majority
of the time it provides no additional value and is just clutter.

That makes it easier to identify "license only" headers (because they
are now license only)
Script line used for that:
perl -i -p0e 's|/\*.*\n.*This file is part of the coreboot project.*\n.*\*|/* This file is part of the coreboot project. */\n/*|' # ...filelist...

This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living
under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture
independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any
architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own
directory.
In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into
multiple CLs. This is change 3/5 which basically is generated by
running the following command:
$ git grep -iIl "arch/acpi" | xargs sed -i 's/arch\/acpi/acpi\/acpi/g'

Including i915.h just for the GMA/SSDT related functions means
dragging along all of i915_reg.h as well, which is problematic
since some platforms (like Apollo Lake) use overlapping symbols.
To avoid this conflict, break out the GMA/SSDT bits into their
own header which can be included without conflict.

Whether the GMA is used depends on the mainboard, so we shouldn't rely
on the presence of the static ACPI code around `GFX0`.

Including gma.asl at the platform level (vs the board level)
means that even desktop boards need to include the default
brightness levels, which makes no sense. To begin to clean this up,
include gma.asl in default_brightness_levels.asl (as well as
the handful of board-specific brightness files) and remove it
from the various platforms.
A follow-on commit will remove default_brightness_levels.asl
from all boards which lack an internal display.
