2020-12-28drivers/intel/gma: drop unused register to resolve name conflictMichael Niewöhner
The register `ESR` conflicts with the `Exception syndrome register` in UDK2017. To resolve the conflict, drop the unused `ESR` register from gma registers. It can be readded and prefixed or renamed if it's required at a later point. 2020-03-29nb/intel/haswell: Implement proper backlight PWM configNico Huber
Further backport the backlight-PWM handling from Skylake. Beside configuring the PWM frequency in Hz, we also use the PCH's logic for the brightness setting via BLM_PCH_OVERRIDE_ENABLE. Linux would toggle it anyway and that might confuse our ASL code. We assume that the 183Hz value that was set before for Slippy variants was overridden by Linux with the 200Hz VBT value, like it was for the Broadwell Chromebooks. So we set 200Hz for them in the devicetrees. The calculated value for the T440p of 220Hz seems sane and also matches the VBT. 2017-03-18nb/i945/gma.c: Refactor panel setupArthur Heymans
This reuses some of gm45 code to set up the panel. Panel start and stop delays and pwm frequency can now be set in devicetree. Linux does not make the difference between 945gm and gm45 for panel delays, so it is safe to assume the semantics of those registers are the same. The core display clock is computed according to "Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family" Datasheet. This selects Legacy backlight mode since most targets have some smm code that rely on this. This sets the same backlight frequency as vendor bios on Thinkpad X60 and T60. A default of 180Hz is selected for the PWM frequency if it is not defined in the devicetree, this might be annoying for displays that are LED backlit, but is a safe value for CCFL backlit displays. 2014-08-13Falco/Slippy: Patch to refactor haswell/gma.c and ↵Furquan Shaikh
mainboard/google/slippy/i915io.c A large portion of documented registers have been initialized using macros. Only a few undocumented registers are left out. i915io.c looks lot more cleaner by removing redundant calls. However, some more work is required to correctly identify which calls are not required. All the io_writes are replaced by gtt_writes. Other two undocumented registers 0x6f030 and 0x6f034 correspond to data_m and data_n respectively. Calculations are based on the intel_link_compute_m_n from linux kernel. Currently, the value for 0x6f030 does not come up right with our calculations. Hence, set to hard-coded value. 2013-12-05haswell: pull in the init code for FUIRonald G. Minnich
Removed two unnecessary register sets, and did the power well a bit more correctly. Also, added a register definition include file so we can used constants instead of magic numbers. We also set registers to common initialized values that are needed for FUI, VBIOS, and kernel. This set of registers appears to be an absolute bare minimum. Since we're hoping to use FUI for all chipsets from this one forward, we unconditionally do the setting here. Signed-off-by: Ronald G.
