This change adds Kconfig option to choose vbt data size based on platform. Unconditionally selecting `GFX_GMA_IGNORE_PRESENCE_STRAPS` creates a hard dependency on `MAINBOARD_USE_LIBGFXINIT`, which is undesired. Move it out of the `if GFX_GMA` block to break this unwanted dependency. TEST=Build for Librem 13v4 with no graphics init successfully. A handful of boards do not properly implement the presence straps, leading libgfxinit to fail to detect an attached display. Add an override, defaulting to N, which can be set for affected boards. Add a section to the documentation detailing the option and its usage. 2020-03-25drivers/intel/gma/acpi: Add Kconfigs for backlight registersNico Huber
Instead of adding more versions of the `*pch.asl`, unify the existing ones and allow to override the register locations via Kconfig. 2020-03-15treewide: Replace uses of "Nehalem"Angel Pons
The code in coreboot is actually for the Arrandale processors, which are a MCM (Multi-Chip Module) with two different dies: - Hillel: 32nm Westmere dual-core CPU - Ironlake: 45nm northbridge with integrated graphics This has nothing to do with the older, single-die Nehalem processors. Therefore, replace the references to Nehalem with the correct names. 2020-03-15nb/intel/nehalem: Rename to ironlakeAngel Pons
The code is for Arrandale CPUs, whose System Agent is Ironlake. This change simply replaces `nehalem` with `ironlake` and `NEHALEM` with `IRONLAKE`. The remaining `Nehalem` cases are handled later, as changing some of them would impact the resulting binary. Tested with BUILD_TIMELESS=1 without adding the configuration options into the binary, and packardbell/ms2290 does not change. 2020-03-093rdparty/libgfxinit: Update submodule pointerNico Huber
Changes allow to use the integrated panel logic (power sequen- cing and backlight control) for more connectors. The Kconfigs GFX_GMA_PANEL_1_PORT and GFX_GMA_PANEL_2_PORT can now be set to any port, e.g. config GFX_GMA_PANEL_1_PORT default "DP3" Now that the panel logic is not tied to the `Internal` port choice anymore, we can properly split it into `LVDS` and `eDP`. This also adds Comet Lake PCI IDs which should still work the same as Kaby and Coffee Lake. As discussed on the mailing list and voted upon, the coreboot project is going to move the majority of copyrights out of the headers and into an AUTHORS file. This will happen a bit at a time, as we'll be unifying license headers at the same time. Updated Authors file is in a separate commit. Most Intel platforms use separate registers for software-based SMI (0xe0) and SCI (0xe8), but Atom-based platforms use a single combined register (0xe0) for both. Adjust opregion implementation to use the correct register for Atom-based platforms. The selection of the SSC reference frequency for LVDS was based on a completely unrelated clock. The `ssc_freq` flag should be set when the SSC reference runs at a different frequency than the general display reference clock (DREF). For most platforms, there is no choice, i.e. for i945 and gm45 the SSC reference always differs from the display reference clock (i945: 66Mhz SSC vs. 48MHz DREF; gm45: 100MHz SSC vs. 96Mhz DREF), for Nehalem and newer, it's the same frequency for SSC/non-SSC (120MHz). The only, currently supported platform with a choice seems to be Pineview, where the alternative is 100MHz vs. the default 96MHz. Add `libgfxinit` as another option for native graphics initialization. For that, the function gma_gfxinit() (see drivers/intel/gma/i915.h) has to be called by the respective northbridge/soc code. A mainboard port needs to select `CONFIG_MAINBOARD_HAS_LIBGFXINIT` and implement the Ada package `GMA.Mainboard` with a single function `ports` that returns a list of ports to be probed for displays. v2: Update 3rdparty/libgfxinit to its latest master commit to make things buildable within coreboot. v3: Another update to 3rdparty/libgfxinit. Old igd.asl had inconsistent addresses (between _DOD and actual device) and ghost devices. Any of those is enough to make brightness on windows fail and make igd.asl out-of-ACPI-spec. Also old code favoured ridiculous copying of the same thing 6 times per chipset. Leave only hooking up and chipset-specific part in chipset directory. Move NVS handling and ACPI-spec parts to a common file.
