2024-01-31include/device/device.h: Remove CHIP_NAME() macroNicholas Sudsgaard
Macros can be confusing on their own; hiding commas make things worse. This can sometimes be downright misleading. A "good" example would be the code in soc/intel/xeon_sp/spr/chip.c: CHIP_NAME("Intel SapphireRapids-SP").enable_dev = chip_enable_dev, This appears as CHIP_NAME() being some struct when in fact these are defining 2 separate members of the same struct. It was decided to remove this macro altogether, as it does not do anything special and incurs a maintenance burden. 2024-01-24driver/acpi to /driver/gfx: Rename Makefiles from .inc to .mkMartin Roth
The .inc suffix is confusing to various tools as it's not specific to Makefiles. This means that editors don't recognize the files, and don't open them with highlighting and any other specific editor functionality. This issue is also seen in the release notes generation script where Makefiles get renamed before running cloc. 2023-08-06drivers: Add SPDX license headers to MakefilesMartin Roth
To help identify the licenses of the various files contained in the coreboot source, we've added SPDX headers to the top of all of the .c and .h files. This extends that practice to Makefiles. Any file in the coreboot project without a specific license is bound to the license of the overall coreboot project, GPL Version 2. This patch adds the GPL V2 license identifier to the top of all makefiles in the drivers directory that don't already have an SPDX license line at the top. 2022-03-07src: Make PCI ID define names shorterFelix Singer
Shorten define names containing PCI_{DEVICE,VENDOR}_ID_ with PCI_{DID,VID}_ using the commands below, which also take care of some spacing issues. An additional clean up of pci_ids.h is done in CB:61531. Used commands: * find -type f -exec sed -i 's/PCI_\([DV]\)\(EVICE\|ENDOR\)_ID_\([_0-9A-Za-z]\{2\}\([_0-9A-Za-z]\{8\}\)*[_0-9A-Za-z]\{0,5\}\)\t/PCI_\1ID_\3\t\t/g' * find -type f -exec sed -i 's/PCI_\([DV]\)\(EVICE\|ENDOR\)_ID_\([_0-9A-Za-z]*\)/PCI_\1ID_\3/g' Change-Id: If9027700f53b6d0d3964c26a41a1f9b8f62be178 Signed-off-by: Felix Singer <felixsinger@posteo.net> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/39331 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: Michael Niewöhner <foss@mniewoehner.de>
2021-09-24drivers/genesyslogic/gl9755: Disable ASPM L0s supportBen Chuang
When the entry delay of L0s is less than the entry delay of L1, GL9755 will enter L0s state first. When it exits from L0s state, the time of L1 entry will be reset. Therefore, the conditions for entering L1 state cannot be met. In order to enter L1 state, L0s needs to be disabled. BUG=b:195611000 TEST=Verify GL9755 enters L1 by observing CLKREQ# de-asserts. Configure the CFG2 register to set the latency to <64us in order to ensure the L1 exit latency is consistent across devices and that L1 ASPM is always enabled. This moves the setup code from device init to device enable so it executes before coreboot does ASPM configuration, and removes the call to pci_dev_init() as that is just for VGA Option ROMs. BUG=b:173207454 TEST=Verify the device and link capability and control for L1: DevCap: Latency L1 <64us LnkCap: Latency L1 <64us LnkCtl: ASPM L1 Enabled Signed-off-by: Duncan Laurie <dlaurie@google.com> Change-Id: Ie2b85a6697f164fbe4f84d8cd5acb2b5911ca7a9 Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/47682 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: Tim Wawrzynczak <twawrzynczak@chromium.org>
