2020-12-16arch/x86: Link gdt_init.S into bootblockKyösti Mälkki
Followup work forces gdtptr and gdt towards the top of bootblock. They need to be realmode-addressable, i.e. within top 64 KiB or same segment with .reset. 2020-12-16arch/x86: Clean up bootblock assemblyKyösti Mälkki
We have identical gdtptr16 and gdtptr. The reference in gdtptr_offset calculation is not accounted for when considering --gc-sections, so to support linking gdt_init.S separately add dummy use of gdtptr symbol. Realmode execution already accessed gdt that was located outside [_start16bit,_estart16bit] region. Remove latter symbol as the former was not really a start of region, but entry point symbol. With the romcc bootblock solution, entry32.inc may have been linked into romstage before, but the !ENV_BOOTBLOCK case seems obsolete now. 2020-03-17src (minus soc and mainboard): Remove copyright noticesPatrick Georgi
They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. This patch drops the CONFIG_C_ENVIRONMENT_BOOTBLOCK symbol and adds CONFIG_ROMCC_BOOTBLOCK where needed. 2019-01-23arch/x86: Align _start16bit with C_ENVIRONMENT_BOOBLOCKKyösti Mälkki
Followup removes SIPI_VECTOR_IN_ROM and it seems reasonable enough to force the alignment unconditionally to page size. Reason for the conditionals is the alignment is not possible with romcc bootblocks having total size less than 4 kiB. 2019-01-13arch/x86: Drop Kconfig AP_SIPI_VECTORKyösti Mälkki
This was used to check romcc-built bootblock and romstage agree about the location of 16-bit entrypoint. There was no need to customize it as bootblock size requirement did not grow. Just check for a fixed location at 4 GiB - 4 KiB. With C_ENVIRONMENT_BOOTBLOCK we can have a proper symbol for the purpose, since it appears in the same compilation unit. It will adjust if C_ENV_BOOTBLOCK_SIZE changes. 2015-11-19x86: Add Kconfig to disable early bootblock postcodesMartin Roth
The Intel cave creek chipset needs to have port 80 routing configured before any post codes can be sent to port 80h. Sending post codes out before the routing is done will hang the system. This patch allows us to disable the first couple of post codes that go out before the routing can be configured. The Kconfig symbol is selected by the cave creek chipset (fsp_i89xx). 2012-03-16Fix address of IDT in real-mode entryKyösti Mälkki
In a case of CS & 0x0fff != 0x0, lidt memory operand does not point to nullidt, this can raise an exception and shutdown the CPU. When an AP CPU receives 8-bit Start-Up IPI vector yzH, it starts execute at physical address 000yz000H. Seems this translates to either yz00:0000 or y000:z000 (CS:IP), depending of the CPU model. With the change entry16.inc is relocatable as the commentary suggests and can be used as ap_sipi_vector on SMP systems.
