2019-01-03nb/intel/haswell: Add support for PEGTristan Corrick
This means that any PCIe device placed in a PEG slot should now work. During S3 resume, link training sometimes does not complete before device enumeration. However, no tangible issues have been observed. Fixing it would introduce a rather large delay in S3 resume. There are a few minor shortcomings: - Using PEG for display output is not yet supported. - Only PEG2 is supported. An extra (unknown) training sequence is said to be needed for PEG3. - The ACPI _PRT method is not yet generated, so legacy interrupt routing doesn't work for devices with multiple functions. Tested on an ASRock H81M-HDS. Using a Radeon HD 6450 graphics card works under GNU/Linux, with PRIME [1]. An x1 PCIe card was also tested in the PEG slot, and it appears functional. 2018-12-20cpu/intel/common: decouple IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL lock from set_vmx()Matt DeVillier
Newer CPUs/SoCs need to configure other features via the IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL msr, such as SGX, which cannot be done if the msr is already locked. Create separate functions for setting the vmx flag and lock bit, and rename existing function to indicate that the lock bit will be set in addition to vmx flag (per Kconfig). This will allow Skylake/Kabylake (and others?) to use the common VMX code without breaking SGX, while ensuring no change in functionality to existing platforms which current set both together. Test: build/boot each affected platform, ensure no change in functionality Change-Id: Iee772fe87306b4729ca012cef8640d3858e2cb06 Signed-off-by: Matt DeVillier <matt.devillier@gmail.com> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/30229 Reviewed-by: Nico Huber <nico.h@gmx.de> Reviewed-by: David Guckian Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org>

2018-12-03nb/intel/i945: Use common SMM_TSEG codeArthur Heymans
Use the common SMM_TSEG code to relocate the smihandler to TSEG. This also caches the TSEG region and therefore increases MTRR usage a little in some cases. This fixes S3 resume being broken introduced by CB:25594 "sb/intel/i82801gx: Use common Intel SMM code". Currently SMRR msr's are not set on model_1067x and model_6fx since this needs the MSRR enable bit and lock set in IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL. This will be handled properly in the subsequent parallel mp init patchset. Tested on Intel d945gclf and Lenovo Thinkpad X60. 2018-07-30nb/intel/gm45: Use common code for SMM in TSEGArthur Heymans
This makes i82801ix use the common smm southbridge code to set up smm relocation and smi handler setup. This is needed in this change for the the smm relocation code relies on some southbridge functions provided in the common code. Some of the old code is kept for the Q35 qemu target. This also caches the TSEG region and therefore increases MTRR usage a little in some cases. Currently SMRR msr's are not set on model_1067x and model_6fx since this needs the MSRR enable bit and lock set in IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL. This will be handled properly in the subsequent parallel mp init patchset. Tested on Thinkpad X200: boots and going to and resuming from S3 still works fine. 2018-05-01Fix freeze during chipset lockdown on NehalemMatthias Gazzari
Remove locking of PCI device 00:00.0 registers (nehalem/finalize.c) and remove setting the zeroth bit of the MSR_LT_LOCK_MEMORY = 0x2e7 MSR register (model_2065x/finalize.c) to fix a frozen boot and S3 resume issue which became apparent with commit d533b16669a3bacb19b2824e6b4bc76a2a18c92a. More detailed, either setting the LSB of the 32 bit register at 0x98 of the PCI device 00:00.0 (in the intel_nehalem_finalize_smm function) or setting the LSB of the the MSR register MSR_LT_LOCK_MEMORY = 0x2e7 (in the intel_model_2065x_finalize_smm function) indepentenly causes a freeze during bootup or a complete session loss on resuming from S3 as described here: https://mail.coreboot.org/pipermail/coreboot/2018-April/086564.html It seems like Nehalem CPUs do not have a MSR_LT_LOCK_MEMORY register. Additionally, the "Intel Core i7-600, i5-500, i5-400 and i3-300 Mobile Processor Series, Datasheet Volume Two" indicates that registers of the PCI device 00:00.0 cannot be locked manually. Instead, they can only be locked by TXT, VT-d, CMD.LOCK.MEMCONFIG, ME_SM_LOCK or D_LCK. Finally, the addresses and sizes of these registers were partially wrong. Tested on Lenovo X201i with a Core i3 330M (no AES-NI, no VT-d and no TXT support compared to the Core i5 and Core i7 processors of a X201). Tested on Thinkpad X220, shaves of ~30ms on a 2 core, 4 threads CPU. 2018-04-10cpu/intel/sandybridge: Put stage cache into TSEGArthur Heymans
TSEG is not accessible in ring 0 after it is locked in ramstage, in contrast with cbmem which remains accessible. Assuming SMM does not touch the cache this is a good region to cache stages. The code is mostly copied from src/cpu/intel/haswell. TESTED on Thinkpad X220: on a cold boot the stage cache gets created and on S3 the cached ramstage gets properly used. 2018-01-17cpu/intel/speedstep: Fix the PNOT ACPI methodArthur Heymans
The PNOT method never notifies the CPU to update it's _CST methods due to reliance on inexisting variable (PDCx). Add a method in the speedstep ssdt generator to notify all available CPU nodes and hook this up in this file. The cpu.asl file is moved to cpu/intel/speedstep/acpi since it now relies on code generated in the speedstep ssdt generator. CPUs not using the speedstep code never included this PNOT method so this is a logical place for this code to be.
