2023-06-23commonlib/console/post_code.h: Change post code prefix to POSTCODElilacious
The prefix POSTCODE makes it clear that the macro is a post code. Hence, replace related macros starting with POST to POSTCODE and also replace every instance the macros are invoked with the new name. The files was changed by running the following bash script from the top level directory. sed -i'' '30,${s/#define POST/#define POSTCODE/g;}' \ src/commonlib/include/commonlib/console/post_codes.h; myArray=`grep -e "^#define POSTCODE_" \ src/commonlib/include/commonlib/console/post_codes.h | \ grep -v "POST_CODES_H" | tr '\t' ' ' | cut -d ' ' -f 2`; for str in ${myArray[@]}; do splitstr=`echo $str | cut -d '_' -f2-` grep -r POST_$splitstr src | \ cut -d ':' -f 1 | xargs sed -i'' -e "s/POST_$splitstr/$str/g"; grep -r "POST_$splitstr" util/cbfstool | \ cut -d ':' -f 1 | xargs sed -i'' -e "s/POST_$splitstr/$str/g"; done Change-Id: I25db79fa15f032c08678f66d86c10c928b7de9b8 Signed-off-by: lilacious <yuchenhe126@gmail.com> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/76043 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: Subrata Banik <subratabanik@google.com>

2022-08-26x86: Zero SMBIOS region before writing tablesJonathon Hall
Clear the SMBIOS region before writing SMBIOS tables. On librem_mini and librem_mini_v2, CBMEM allocations are offset by 4K for reboots relative to the cold boot. This means the unused SMBIOS region could contain the first 4K of the ACPI tables from the last boot (including the signature), which prevents Linux from booting. The CBMEM 4K offset appears to be due to FSP allocating memory differently between cold boot and reboot, this appears to be normal and causes the CBMEM base address to change. It is not clear why Linux examines an ACPI signature found in this region, but boot logs over serial confirm that it sees the corrupt table. The table is supposed to be found just below 1M, and kernel source appears to look in this region, but it is definitely finding the corrupt table in CBMEM. Normal cold boot: [ 0.008615] ACPI: RSDP 0x00000000000F6190 000024 (v02 COREv4) [ 0.008619] ACPI: XSDT 0x0000000099B480E0 00005C (v01 COREv4 COREBOOT 00000000 CORE 20220331) [ 0.008624] ACPI: FACP 0x0000000099B4A2A0 000114 (v06 COREv4 COREBOOT 00000000 CORE 20220331) [ 0.008634] ACPI: DSDT 0x0000000099B48280 00201F (v02 COREv4 COREBOOT 20110725 INTL 20220331) ... 2022-05-28arch/x86/tables.c: Increase MAX_SMBIOS_SIZEArthur Heymans
Systems have a lot more cores now and 4KiB is not cutting it. E.g. for a system with 255 cores more than 16KiB is needed. We could also make this a Kconfig parameter but it's probably not worth having such micro optimizations to save a few KiB. 2022-02-07treewide: Remove "ERROR: "/"WARN: " prefixes from log messagesJulius Werner
Now that the console system itself will clearly differentiate loglevels, it is no longer necessary to explicitly add "ERROR: " in front of every BIOS_ERR message to help it stand out more (and allow automated tooling to grep for it). Removing all these extra .rodata characters should save us a nice little amount of binary size. This patch was created by running find src/ -type f -exec perl -0777 -pi -e 's/printk\(\s*BIOS_ERR,\s*"ERROR: /printk\(BIOS_ERR, "/gi' '{}' ';' and doing some cursory review/cleanup on the result. With the recent addition of SMBIOS table 20, the cbmem area on google/brya0 overflows and ERROR: Increase SMBIOS size SMBIOS tables: 2128 bytes. is seen in the logs. Therefore, double the size of the SMBIOS area from 2 KiB to 4 KiB to accomodate more tables as needed. This happens during ramstage so 2k is not a big deal at this point. 2020-05-02acpi: Move ACPI table support out of arch/x86 (3/5)Furquan Shaikh
This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own directory. In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into multiple CLs. This is change 3/5 which basically is generated by running the following command: $ git grep -iIl "arch/acpi" | xargs sed -i 's/arch\/acpi/acpi\/acpi/g' BUG=b:155428745 Change-Id: I16b1c45d954d6440fb9db1d3710063a47b582eae Signed-off-by: Furquan Shaikh <furquan@google.com> Reviewed-on: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/40938 Tested-by: build bot (Jenkins) <no-reply@coreboot.org> Reviewed-by: HAOUAS Elyes <ehaouas@noos.fr>

2017-10-29arch/x86: Restore forwarding table on resume for non EARLY_EBDA_INITFurquan Shaikh
In commit c06a3f72 (arch/x86: initialize EBDA in S3 and S0/S5 path), BDA and EBDA are wiped in the resume path. It results in coreboot forwarding table address being wiped out since it is stored in the BDA. This issue was resolved for platforms using EARLY_EBDA_INIT in commit f46a9a0d (arch/x86: restore forwarding table on resume for EARLY_EBDA_INIT). However platforms that do not use EARLY_EBDA_INIT still run into the same issue and hence cbmem does not work on resume. This change fixes the issue by using the stash/restore of forwarding table address for all platforms using BDA. BUG=b:68412690 TEST=Verified that cbmem works on S3 resume for coral. There were quite a number of #if/#endif guards in the write_tables() code. Clean up that function by splitting up the subcomponents into their own individual functions. The same ordering and logic is kept maintained. The changes also benefit the goal of using a common core write_tables() logic so that other architectures don't duplicate large swaths of code. 2016-04-21arch: only print cbmem entries in one placeAaron Durbin
Each arch was calling cbmem_list() in their own write_tables() function. Consolidate that call and place it in common code in write_coreboot_table(). 2016-04-21arch: use Kconfig variable for coreboot table sizeAaron Durbin
Instead of hard coding a #define in each architecture's tables.c for the coreboot table size in cbmem use a Kconfig varible. This aids in aligning on a common write_tables() implementation instead of duplicating the code for each architecture. 2015-10-31tree: drop last paragraph of GPL copyright headerPatrick Georgi
It encourages users from writing to the FSF without giving an address. Linux also prefers to drop that and their checkpatch.pl (that we imported) looks out for that. This is the result of util/scripts/no-fsf-addresses.sh with no further editing. 2015-07-13x86: flatten hierarchyStefan Reinauer
It never made sense to have bootblock_* in init, but pirq_routing.c in boot, and some ld scripts on the main level while others live in subdirectories. This patch flattens the directory hierarchy and makes x86 more similar to the other architectures.
