2022-01-15libpayload: Install vboot headers and add include paths to lpgccJakub Czapiga
New CBFS API uses commonlib/bsd/cbfs_serialized.h, which includes vboot's vb2_sha.h. And, because vboot's includes are not available in libpayload's installation directory nor in lpgcc paths, it was causing compilation errors. This patch fixes this issue. lpgcc will look for `vboot` directory like it is doing for `include` directory to create correct paths. However, if payload will be built using libpayload's build dir as a base, then vboot headers from 3rdparty/vboot will be used, as there is no way to pass VBOOT_SOURCE from makefile to lpgcc. Moreover, this patch moves VBOOT_SOURCE to the main Makefile to make it available for installation target, to install headers from vboot directory provided by caller. 2022-01-10libpayload: Enable vboot integrationJakub Czapiga
This patch introduces building and linking of 3rdparty/vboot with libpayload. VBoot can be enabled by setting CONFIG_LP_VBOOT_LIB. Moreover it can be configured to use either TPM or TPM 2.0 mode, and whether to use SHA256 processor extension instructions on x86. 2021-10-11libpayload: Add mock architectureJakub Czapiga
Mock architecture can be used to build libpayload using host compiler. It can be enabled by setting ARCH_MOCK=y in the dotconfig. It sets LITTLE_ENDIAN=y, as most machines these days use little-endian CPUs. Libpayload will use HOSTCC as CC, HOSTLD as LD, etc. instead of tools provided by xcompile. Mock architecture configuration can be used by payloads for testing purposes. Thanks to it, tests can be architecture-independent, and can be executed without requiring compatible Kconfig options, e.g. ARCH_ARM64=y for ARM64 machine. However, one has to provide implementation for most architecture-specific functions present in arch/* directories. 2021-07-13util/kconfig: Uprev to Linux 5.13's kconfigPatrick Georgi
This was originally several commits that had to be squashed into one because the intermediate states weren't able to build coreboot: - one to remove everything that wasn't our own code, leaving only regex.[ch], toada.c, description.md and Makefile.inc. - one to copy in Linux 5.13's scripts/kconfig and adapt Makefile.inc to make the original Makefile work again. - adapt abuild to use olddefconfig, simplifying matters. - apply patches in util/kconfig/patches. - Some more adaptations to the libpayload build system. The patches are now in util/kconfig/patches/, reverse applying them should lead to a util/kconfig/ tree that contains exactly the Linux version + our own 5 files. No other board has used it since and nobody is still willing or has the expertise and hardware to maintain it. 2014-09-08ARM: Generalize armv7 as arm.Gabe Black
There are ARM systems which are essentially heterogeneous multicores where some cores implement a different ARM architecture version than other cores. A specific example is the tegra124 which boots on an ARMv4 coprocessor while most code, including most of the firmware, runs on the main ARMv7 core. To support SOCs like this, the plan is to generalize the ARM architecture so that all versions are available, and an SOC/CPU can then select what architecture variant should be used for each component of the firmware; bootblock, romstage, and ramstage. If xcompile can't find out suitable GCC compiler for i386/armv7, it will not set $CC_i386/$CC_armv7 variable. Makefile sets $CC variable from xcompile, and will print strange error messages when executing $CC program if $CC is empty. Add checking to avoid this problem. If $CC is empty, also delete invalid .xcompile file, so Make can recreate this file next time. 2013-03-18libpayload: Fix the config file dependency in the Makefile templateGabe Black
The template had a dependency on config.h which was correct for coreboot, where this build system originally came from, but not for libpayload which uses the differently named libpayload-config.h, presumably to avoid colliding with a config.h used by the actual payload. Because libpayload-config.h is now effectively a dependency of everything, it doesn't have to be added piecemeal in Makefile.inc. 2008-09-231.Patrick Georgi
Preset CC to gcc in Makefile. There are some $(shell $(CC) ...) invocations with GCC specific options, so that shouldn't hurt. 2. Replace stdbool.h include in util/kconfig/expr.h by a custom implementation of booleans. This is okay as these booleans are purely internal. It's necessary because there's some disagreement between the Solaris headers and GCC on Solaris, about when stdbool.h is appropriate. 3. Remove stdbool.h include from util/kconfig/zconf.tab.c_shipped. This file includes expr.h already, so it picks up the right set of primitives, without duplicating the special case for Solaris. 2008-09-02This patch adds USB capabilities to libpayload. It requires somePatrick Georgi
memalign implementation (eg. the one I sent yesterday). Features: - UHCI controller driver - UHCI root hub driver - USB MSC (Mass Storage Class) driver - skeleton of a USB HID driver (requires better interrupt transfer handling, which is TODO) - skeleton of a USB hub driver (needs several blank spots filled in, eg. power management. Again: TODO) OHCI and EHCI are not supported, though OHCI support should be rather easy as the stack provides reasonable abstractions (or so I hope). EHCI will probably be more complicated. Isochronous transfers (eg. webcams, audio stuff, ...) are not supported. They can be, but I doubt we'll have a reason for that in the boot environment. The MSC driver was tested against a couple of USB flash drives, and should be reasonably tolerant by now. But I probably underestimate the amount of bugs present in USB flash drives, so feedback is welcome.
