2022-05-28payloads/external: Add support for coreDOOM payloadNicholas Chin
coreDOOM is a port of DOOM to libpayload, based on the doomgeneric source port. It renders the game to the coreboot linear framebuffer, and loads WAD files from CBFS. Tested with QEMU i440fx/q35 and a Dell Latitude E6400 using the libgfxinit provided linear framebuffer. 2022-05-24payloads/external: Add more option related to SeaBIOS and GRUB2Bill XIE
Also known as "SeaGRUB", running GRUB2 atop SeaBIOS proves to be a useful configuration, since SeaBIOS has improved its hardware compatibility. For example, some USB drive can work under SeaBIOS but do not work under native GRUB2, and GRUB2 can use BIOS call (provided by SeaBIOS) as a fallback method to access hardware if it is present. But more option is added addition to "SeaGRUB": now GRUB2 and SeaBIOS can be built as secondary payloads, and "SeaGRUB" is now implemented as "Primary SeaBIOS + Secondary GRUB2 (selected) + config files". 2015-07-07payloads: Reorganize Kconfig for external payloadsStefan Reinauer
The integration of external payloads in coreboot is a bit messy. You have to change the to level Kconfig file for every payload (something that we recently fixed for mainboards and chipsets). This means that updating e.g. the SeaBIOS version requires a change outside of the SeaBIOS directory. With this patch you can create a new directory under payloads/external and place a Kconfig and Kconfig.name file in there, and the payload will automatically show up when you do "make menuconfig". Here were the previous warnings: % make clean Unable to execute the C compiler (). Please install a working compiler and retry. Makefile:104: *** "Please upgrade the build environment". This leads to a cleaner config. Note that CONFIG_THREAD_OPTIONROMS defaults to enabled for SeaBIOS if we're building for coreboot, so I reversed the logic. I *ASSUMED* that leaving CONFIG_QEMU_HARDWARE=y and CONFIG_DEBUG_IO=y previously was an oversight. If this is not correct, please let me know and I'll add them it back in. 2011-02-07Reliably build arbitrary Kconfig-based revisions of SeaBIOSPeter Stuge
Reliability is accomplished by checking out the desired SeaBIOS commitish into a branch named 'coreboot' in the local SeaBIOS git repository. Using a branch allows TAG-$(CONFIG_SEABIOS_..) to refer to any commitish in the SeaBIOS git repo, not just branches and tags. Configuration is done with make defconfig followed by enabling and disabling of the relevant coreboot-specific SeaBIOS options by appending to .config using echo. This works, because later entries in .config will overwrite earlier ones. 2011-01-23Clone a tag rather than SeaBIOS stable branch HEADKevin O'Connor
Use a tag (rel-0.6.1.3) for SeaBIOS stable checkouts instead of the stable branch. The tag is a little safer because it prevents an incorrect commit to the stable branch from being immiediately picked up by coreboot users. Note - rel-0.6.1.3 (and 0.6.1-stable) now have the CFLAGS build fix that was causing build failures for coreboot users.
