2024-09-30util/superiotool/ite: Add extra dumps for IT8613E ECMichał Żygowski
IT8613E EC space is divided into 3 banks selectable by EC index 0x06 bits 6:5. Bank0 mostly contains the ITE EC registers known by coreboot's ITE EC driver. Bank1 contains SB_TSI and PECI temperature reading registers. Bank2, however, contains additional registers used to select the temperature source reported in TMPIN reading registers, PECI bridge registers as well as FAN2-5 controls and extra vectors. Dump the additional banks using extra-selectors. Based on non-public IT8613E Preliminary Specification V0.3. TEST=Perform the IT8613E dump on Hardkernel ODROID H4+. 2024-07-31util/superiotool: Add extra selectors supportMaxim Polyakov
Some chips (fintek [1,2]) have registers with specific selector-fields that can affect the address space of the device (for example, switch the register bank). At the same time, these registers contain fields that should not change after they are configured in BIOS (for example, set the port to 2E/2F or 4E/4F). In this case, the selector should take into account the mask of the register fields and there is no convenient and easy way to add this in the code in the utility. The selector-fields should be set manually before the dump and this action is done several times. This patch adds an extra-selector mechanism that allows superiotool to make a correct dump in automatic mode. 2022-11-13util/superiotool: Add Nuvoton NCT6685D/NCT6686DNicholas Chin
There doesn't seem to be a datasheet available for the NCT6685D, but there is one for the NCT6686D. The 85D seems to return the same ID as the 86D, and the registers do seem to be returning valid data other than LDN 0xf which returns all 1s. The LDN and register layout appears to be identical to the NCT6687D-W. Tested on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 with a NCT6685D. As all GPIO are configured as inputs by default, we can't predict the values of these registers, hence set their default values to NANA. The SCH5317 can have either 0x85 or 0x8c as device ID. However, the former results in false positives on any ITE IT85xx series embedded controller, which has led some people to think that chip was actually in their laptops. Moreover, there is no register dump for the SCH5317. Since nobody has touched this in over a decade, avoid further confusion by dropping the misleading definition. They both have a device id of 0x3c. The former is part of the PCI chip set accessible via port 0x3f0 while the latter is a standalone LPC chip accessible via 0x2e/0x4e depending on strapping. They're not register compatible: the VT82C686 only provides a FDC, LPT and part of UARTs. The VT82C686 documentation suggests it has revision 0x00 while the VT1211 datasheet indicates 0x01. Nevertheless, the VT1211 I happen to have hs a revision of 0x02. Thus the revision is probably not good enough to tell one from the another. Dumping and behavioral analysis have shown that there are more registers in the environment control of the IT8783E/F than documented in my data- sheet. This adds every register that wasn't 0x00/0xff by default. The default values are guesswork: those that looked like sensor readings became NANA, others are taken from dumps. directory line Nico Huber spotted [1], that commit (4d6ab4e2) [1] updating superiotools’s `README` with the Git command line superiotool: Update README with Git repository URL and directory location missed, that after `git clone` one sitll has to change into the cloned directory. So prepend the path with `coreboot/` to fix that.
